“ Although you have been forsaken and hated, with no one traveling through, I will make you the everlasting pride and the joy of all generations.

With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.”

For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord, because they have called you an outcast:‘ It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Your country lies desolate; your cities are burned with fire; in your very presence foreigners devour your land; it is desolate, as overthrown by foreigners.And the daughter of Zion is left like a booth in a vineyard, like a lodge in a cucumber field, like a besieged city.If the Lord of hosts had not left us a few survivors, we should have been like Sodom, and become like Gomorrah.

But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness.

How lonely sits the city that was full of people! How like a widow has she become, she who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become a slave.She weeps bitterly in the night, with tears on her cheeks; among all her lovers she has none to comfort her; all her friends have dealt treacherously with her; they have become her enemies.

and the Lord removes people far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.

He forsook his dwelling at Shiloh, the tent where he dwelt among mankind,and delivered his power to captivity, his glory to the hand of the foe.
