Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

「愚昧無知的百姓啊，你們有眼不看，有耳不聽，現在當聽這話。

因為這百姓的心麻木，耳朵塞着，眼睛閉着，免得眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裏明白，回轉過來，我會醫治他們。』

現在我可以向誰說話，警告誰，使他們聽呢？看哪，他們的耳朵未受割禮，不能聽見。看哪，他們以耶和華的話為羞辱，不以為喜悅。

光來到世上，世人因自己的行為是惡的，不愛光，倒愛黑暗，這就定了他們的罪。凡作惡的人都恨惡光，不來接近光，恐怕他的行為被暴露。

他們卻不留意；聳肩悖逆，耳朵發沉，不肯聽從。

「耶書崙漸漸肥胖，能踼跳。你長得肥胖，粗壯，豐潤。他離棄造他的上帝，輕看救他的磐石。

他們的心被油脂包裹，用口說驕傲的話。

因為耶和華將沉睡的靈澆灌你們，遮住你們的眼，眼就是先知，覆蓋你們的頭，頭就是先見。

耶和華啊，你為何使我們偏離你的道，使我們心裏剛硬、不敬畏你呢？求你為你的僕人，為你產業的支派而回轉。

但希實本王西宏不肯讓我們從他那裏經過，因為耶和華－你的上帝使他性情頑梗，內心剛硬，為要把他交在你手中，像今日一樣。

你不是往那說話艱澀、言語難懂的許多民族那裏去，他們的話你不懂。然而，我若差你往他們那裏去，他們會聽從你。以色列家卻不肯聽從你，因為他們不肯聽從我；原來以色列全家是額頭堅硬、心裏剛愎的人。看哪，我使你的臉堅硬，對抗他們的臉；使你的額頭堅硬，對抗他們的額頭。我使你的額頭像金剛石，比火石更堅硬。他們雖是悖逆之家，但你不要怕他們，也不要因他們的臉色而驚惶。」他又對我說：「人子啊，我對你說的一切話，你心裏要領會，耳朵要聽。要到被擄的人，到你本國百姓那裏去，他們或聽，或不聽，你要對他們宣講，告訴他們這是主耶和華說的。」

他們的心蒙昧如蒙油脂，我卻喜愛你的律法。

看哪，我要任憑埃及人的心剛硬，他們就跟着下去。我要在法老和他的全軍、戰車、戰車長身上得榮耀。

摩西和亞倫在法老面前行了這一切奇事，但耶和華任憑法老的心剛硬，不讓以色列人離開他的地。

所以，你們當悔改歸正，使你們的罪得以塗去，
