Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

『聽著，你們這群愚昧無知的人啊，你們視而不見，聽而不聞。

因為這百姓心靈麻木，耳朵發背，眼睛昏花，以致眼睛看不見，耳朵聽不見，心裡不明白，無法回心轉意，得不到我的醫治。』

我可以警告誰呢？誰會聽呢？他們耳朵閉塞，什麼也聽不見！看啊，耶和華的話逆耳，他們毫不喜歡。

光來到世上，世人因為自己的行為邪惡而不愛光，反愛黑暗，這就是他們被定罪的原因。作惡的人恨光，不肯接近光，恐怕他們的罪行暴露出來。

他們卻不理會，背過身去，充耳不聞，

「但耶書崙吃飽喝足，養肥長壯後，就得意忘形，背棄造他們的上帝，藐視救他們的磐石。

他們良心喪盡，口出狂言。

因為耶和華把沉睡的靈傾倒在你們身上，祂封住你們的眼睛，蓋住你們的頭。你們的眼睛就是先知，你們的頭就是先見。

耶和華啊！你為何使我們偏離你的路，使我們硬著心不敬畏你呢？求你為了你的僕人，你的產業——以色列各支派而改變心意！

希實本王西宏卻拒絕我們的請求，因為我們的上帝耶和華使他頑固不化，好讓我們擊敗他，正如今日的情形。

我不是派你到那些語言陌生、難懂、你聽不明白的民族中。我若果真派你到他們那裡，他們一定會聽你的話。然而以色列人卻不肯聽從你，因為他們頑固不化，不肯聽從我。不過，我要使你的臉像他們的臉一樣硬，使你的額像他們的額一樣硬。我要使你的額比火石更硬，如同金剛石。他們雖然是一群叛逆的人，你不要害怕，也不要因為他們的臉色而驚慌。」祂又說：「人子啊，你要留心聽我說的一切話，牢記在心。你要到你那些被擄的同胞那裡，不論他們聽不聽，你都要向他們宣告，『主耶和華這樣說。』」

他們執迷不悟，但我喜愛你的律法。

我要使埃及人的心剛硬，他們會緊追不捨，跟著你們走進海底。我要在法老及其大軍、戰車和騎兵身上得到榮耀。

摩西和亞倫在法老面前行了這一切的神蹟，但耶和華使法老的心剛硬，他不讓以色列人離開他的國土。

耶和華必擊打他們，也必醫治他們。他們必歸向耶和華，祂必應允他們的禱告，醫治他們。

可是，我要使法老的心剛硬，雖然我在埃及行許多神蹟奇事，

但耶和華使法老的心剛硬，不肯讓以色列百姓離開。

對滅亡的人而言，這香氣是叫人死亡的香氣；對得救的人來說，這香氣卻是叫人得生命的香氣。誰能擔當這樣的重任呢？

所以你們要悔改，歸向上帝，祂將除去你們一切的罪惡，
