No one calls for justice; no one pleads a case with integrity. They rely on empty arguments, they utter lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.

People aren’t fair when they present cases in court. They aren’t honest when they state their case. They depend on weak arguments. They tell lies. They plan to make trouble. Then they carry it out.

No one enters suit justly; no one goes to law honestly; they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies, they conceive mischief and give birth to iniquity.

No one cares about being fair and honest. The people’s lawsuits are based on lies. They conceive evil deeds and then give birth to sin.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD,[ are] these.

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart[ upon them].

For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause[ some] to fall.

Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be[ any] that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

They only consult to cast[ him] down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.

The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
