乃是你們的罪孽使你們跟你們的上帝隔絕，而你們的罪使他掩面不聽你們啊。

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

你們的罪孽將這些事推開了；你們的罪攔阻了你們得福利。

那時這些壞人必向永恆主哀呼，永恆主卻不應他們；那時他必掩面不顧他們，因為他們幹出壞事來。

你們伸開雙手來禱告，我必掩目不看你們；就使你們多多禱告，我也不聽；你們的手都滿了血，你們的指頭滿了罪孽。

永恆主跟惡人、離開很遠；義人的禱告他卻要聽。

列國也就知道以色列家流亡，是因他們的罪孽；他們對我不忠實，我才掩面不顧他們，將他們交於他們的敵人手中，他們便都倒斃於刀下。我掩面不顧他們；是照他們的污穢和罪過來辦他們的。

我也不再掩面不顧他們，因為我已將我的靈傾注於以色列家：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。』

當那日子、我必向他們發怒，撇棄他們、掩面不顧他們，以致他們被吞滅，並有許多災禍患難找到他們身上去。當那日子他們必說：「這些災禍找到我們身上來、豈不是因我們的上帝不在我們中間麼？」當那日子、因他們偏向別的神而行的一切壞事、我必定掩面不顧他們。

『因他的兒女惹了神怒，永恆主看見、就不理睬。說：「我必掩面不顧他們，看他們的結局怎樣，因為他們是反覆乖張的一代，心裏沒有忠信的兒女。

因他貪婪的罪孽、我震怒了，我擊打他；我向他掩面而震怒，他卻仍然隨心意而轉離正路。

嘿，你們禁食、只為的是吵鬧和爭競，拿兇惡的拳頭打人呀！像你們今天這樣的禁食並不能使你們的聲音在高天得聽到呀。

以色列人犯了罪，不但越犯了我的約、我所吩咐他們守的約，反而取了該被毁滅歸神之物；又偷竊，又欺詐，私放在自己的物件裏。

永恆主這麼說：你們母親的離婚書、我用來送她走的證件、在哪裏呢？或是說：哪一個是我的債主，我把你們賣給他呢？看哪，你們被賣、是因你們的罪孽；你們的母親被送走、是因你們的過犯。
