So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.

So people stop others from doing what is fair. They keep them from doing what is right. No one tells the truth in court anymore. No one is honest there.

Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter.

Our courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed.

你們踐踏貧民，向他們勒索麥子；你們用鑿過的石頭建造房屋，卻不得住在其內；栽種美好的葡萄園，卻不得喝所出的酒。

就是先知說假預言，祭司藉他們把持權柄；我的百姓也喜愛這些事，到了結局你們怎樣行呢？

禍哉！那些設立不義之律例的和記錄奸詐之判語的，為要屈枉窮乏人，奪去我民中困苦人的理，以寡婦當作擄物，以孤兒當作掠物。

籠內怎樣滿了雀鳥，他們的房中也照樣充滿詭詐；所以他們得成為大，而且富足。他們肥胖光潤，作惡過甚，不為人伸冤！就是不為孤兒伸冤，不使他亨通，也不為窮人辨屈。

說：你們審判不秉公義，徇惡人的情面，要到幾時呢？（細拉）你們當為貧寒的人和孤兒伸冤；當為困苦和窮乏的人施行公義。當保護貧寒和窮乏的人，救他們脫離惡人的手。你們仍不知道，也不明白，在黑暗中走來走去；地的根基都搖動了。

他們因受賄賂，就稱惡人為義，將義人的義奪去。

我又見日光之下，在審判之處有奸惡，在公義之處也有奸惡。

雅各家的首領、以色列家的官長啊，當聽我的話！你們厭惡公平，在一切事上屈枉正直；以人血建立錫安，以罪孽建造耶路撒冷。首領為賄賂行審判；祭司為雇價施訓誨；先知為銀錢行占卜。他們卻倚賴耶和華，說：耶和華不是在我們中間嗎？災禍必不臨到我們。

可歎，忠信的城變為妓女！從前充滿了公平，公義居在其中，現今卻有兇手居住。

這悖逆、污穢、欺壓的城有禍了！她不聽從命令，不領受訓誨，不倚靠耶和華，不親近她的神。她中間的首領是咆哮的獅子；她的審判官是晚上的豺狼，一點食物也不留到早晨。

他們雙手作惡；君王徇情面，審判官要賄賂；位分大的吐出惡意，都彼此結聯行惡。他們最好的，不過是蒺藜；最正直的，不過是荊棘籬笆。你守望者說，降罰的日子已經來到。他們必擾亂不安。不要倚賴鄰舍；不要信靠密友。要守住你的口；不要向你懷中的妻提說。

你們這使公平變為茵蔯、將公義丟棄於地的，
