He winks with his eyes, He shuffles his feet, He points with his fingers;

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you.

Whom do you ridicule? Against whom do you make a wide mouth And stick out the tongue? Are you not children of transgression, Offspring of falsehood,

I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.

“ Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?

In transgressing and lying against the Lord, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision lies, And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; They are in trouble because there is no shepherd.

So he went to his father and said,“ My father.” And he said,“ Here I am. Who are you, my son?”

For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you,” says the Lord GOD.

So he arose and went to Eli, and said,“ Here I am, for you did call me.” Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy.
