No, this is the kind of fast I want. I want you to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, and to break every burdensome yoke.

“‘我要的禁食是，除去罪恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，折断一切的轭，使受欺压的人得到自由，

我所拣选的禁食不是这样吗？不是要松开凶恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，使被压迫的获得自由，折断所有的轭吗？

我所喜悦的禁食，难道不是以下这样吗？松开邪恶的锁链，解开轭上的绳索，使被欺压的人得自由，折断一切的轭，

我所揀選的禁食不是要鬆開凶惡的繩，解下軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

我所要的禁食，豈不是要你鬆開兇惡的繩，解開軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

我所要的禁食，豈不是要你鬆開兇惡的繩，解開軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

「『我要的禁食是，除去罪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，折斷一切的軛，使受欺壓的人得到自由，

我所揀選的禁食不是這樣嗎？不是要鬆開兇惡的鎖鍊，解開軛上的繩索，使被壓迫的獲得自由，折斷所有的軛嗎？

『豈不是打開兇惡的銬鐐，解下軛上的繩索，使被壓制的得自由，折斷一切的軛麼？

我所喜悅的禁食，難道不是以下這樣嗎？鬆開邪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，使被壓迫的人得自由，折斷一切的軛，

我所選之禁食、豈非釋凶惡之索、解人之負、縱受屈者自逸、而折諸軛乎、

為強暴故拘繫者、當縱之自逸、釋人重負、伸人屈抑、折人衡軛、禁食若此、我何不喜。

釋兇暴之繩、解欺壓之索、釋受虐者、折一切壓人之軛、如是之禁食、始為我所悅、

“ Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

“ Here is the way I want you to fast.“ Set free those who are held by chains without any reason. Untie the ropes that hold people as slaves. Set free those who are crushed. Break every evil chain.

“ Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?

“ No, this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people.

Isn’t this the fast I choose: To break the chains of wickedness, to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke?

Is this not the fast that I choose: To release the bonds of wickedness, To undo the ropes of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free, And break every yoke?

“ Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?

Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

“ Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

Even I and my relatives and my associates are lending them money and grain. But let us abandon this practice of seizing collateral!This very day return to them their fields, their vineyards, their olive trees, and their houses, along with the interest that you are exacting from them on the money, the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil.”They replied,“ We will return these things, and we will no longer demand anything from them. We will do just as you say.” Then I called the priests and made the wealthy and the officials swear to do what had been promised.

Then you will call out, and the LORD will respond; you will cry out, and he will reply,‘ Here I am.’ You must remove the burdensome yoke from among you and stop pointing fingers and speaking sinfully.

Those who are under the yoke as slaves must regard their own masters as deserving of full respect. This will prevent the name of God and Christian teaching from being discredited.

The LORD spoke to Jeremiah after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem to grant their slaves their freedom.Everyone was supposed to free their male and female Hebrew slaves. No one was supposed to keep a fellow Judean enslaved.All the people and their leaders had agreed to this. They had agreed to free their male and female slaves and not keep them enslaved any longer. They originally complied with the covenant and freed them.But later they had changed their minds. They had taken back their male and female slaves that they had freed and forced them to be slaves again.

yet you hate what is good, and love what is evil. You flay my people’s skin and rip the flesh from their bones.You devour my people’s flesh, strip off their skin, and crush their bones. You chop them up like flesh in a pot– like meat in a kettle.Someday these sinners will cry to the LORD for help, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time, because they have done such wicked deeds.”
