是爾禁食、依然作惡、與人爭競、揮拳敺擊、夫如是豈得升聞於上哉。

Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high.

When you fast, it ends in arguing and fighting. You hit one another with your fists. That is an evil thing to do. The way you are now fasting keeps your prayers from being heard in heaven.

Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with a wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high.

What good is fasting when you keep on fighting and quarreling? This kind of fasting will never get you anywhere with me.

You fast with contention and strife to strike viciously with your fist. You cannot fast as you do today, hoping to make your voice heard on high.

Behold, you fast for contention and strife, and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you have done today to make your voice heard on high!

Indeed you fast for strife and debate, And to strike with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as you do this day, To make your voice heard on high.

惡人的祭物尚且可憎，更何況他獻祭時居心不良呢！

他們的網不能作為衣服，他們所做的也不能遮蓋自己；他們的作為是邪惡的作為，他們手中都是殘暴的行為；

並且大多數的弟兄因著我所受的捆鎖，就在主裡深信不疑、無所懼怕，更加大膽地傳講這話語。有些人傳揚基督固然是出於嫉妒和紛爭，但也有些人是出於好意。

保羅注視著議會的人，說：「各位兄弟，直到今天，我在神面前，行事為人一向都憑著無愧的良心。」大祭司阿納尼亞就命令站在保羅旁邊的人，打他的嘴巴。

他們把耶穌從該亞法那裡帶到總督府，那時是清晨。他們為了不被汙穢，能吃逾越節的晚餐，就沒有進入總督府。

然後他頒布諭令，說：「在尼尼微，王和大臣有令：『無論人或牲畜，牛或羊，都不可嘗什麼，不可吃什麼，也不可喝水。

「經文士和法利賽人哪，你們這些偽善的人有禍了！因為你們在人的面前封閉了天國。你們自己不進去，也不讓正要進的人進去。

「你們禁食的時候，不要像偽善的人那樣愁眉苦臉。他們裝出難看的樣子，好讓人看出他們在禁食。我確實地告訴你們：他們已經得到了他們的報償。至於你，你禁食的時候，要梳頭洗臉，免得被人看出你在禁食；你反而要讓你在隱祕中的父看見。這樣，你那在隱祕中察看的父就將回報你。

他們侵吞寡婦的家產，又假意做很長的禱告。這些人將受到更重的懲罰。」

而是你們的罪孽使你們與你們的神隔絕，是你們的罪惡使他對你們掩面不聽。
