and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.

Work hard to feed hungry people. Satisfy the needs of those who are crushed. Then my blessing will light up your darkness. And the night of your suffering will become as bright as the noonday sun.

if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.

You must actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. Then your light will dispel the darkness, and your darkness will be transformed into noonday.

He will bring out your righteousness as the light, And your judgment as the noonday.

Your life would be brighter than noonday; Darkness would be like the morning.

Is it not to break your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will spring up quickly; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in poverty.A generous person will be prosperous, And one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty.

“ If there is a poor person among you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother;but you shall fully open your hand to him, and generously lend him enough for his need in whatever he lacks.Be careful that there is no mean spirited thought in your heart, such as,‘ The seventh year, the year of release of debts, is near,’ and your eye is malicious toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing; then he may cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin in you.You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your work, and in all your undertakings.

I will lead those who are blind by a way they have not known, In paths they have not known I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light before them And uneven land into plains. These are the things I will do, And I will not leave them undone.”

One who oppresses the poor taunts his Maker, But one who is gracious to the needy honors Him.

On that day those who are deaf will hear words of a book, And out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of those who are blind will see.

It goes well for a person who is gracious and lends; He will maintain his cause in judgment.For he will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever.He will not fear bad news; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.His heart is firm, he will not fear, But will look with satisfaction on his enemies.He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.

One who gives to the poor will never lack anything, But one who shuts his eyes will have many curses.

Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him,“ One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Blessed is one who considers the helpless; The Lord will save him on a day of trouble.
