我因人貪婪的罪孽，發怒擊打他；我轉臉向他發怒，他卻仍隨意背道而行。

緣其貪婪之咎、我則奮怒以擊之、掩面而憾之、彼仍悖逆、任意而行、

彼貪財貨、干我震怒、扑之遠之、彼乃乖戾、不更厥志。

I was enraged by their sinful greed; I punished them, and hid my face in anger, yet they kept on in their willful ways.

I was very angry with them. They always longed for more and more of everything. So I punished them for that sin. I turned my face away from them because I was angry. But they kept on wanting their own way.

Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry, I struck him; I hid my face and was angry, but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.

I was angry, so I punished these greedy people. I withdrew from them, but they kept going on their own stubborn way.

這些狗貪食，不知飽足。這些牧人不知明辨，他們都偏行己路，人人追求自己的利益。

「因為他們從最小的到最大的都貪圖不義之財，從先知到祭司全都行事虛假。

至於淫亂和一切污穢，或是貪婪，在你們中間連提都不可，這才合乎聖徒的體統。淫詞、妄語和粗俗的俏皮話都不合宜；總要說感謝的話。要確實知道，無論是淫亂的，是污穢的，是貪心的（貪心的就是拜偶像的），在基督和上帝的國裏都得不到基業。

我責打你們的兒女是徒然的，他們不受管教。你們自己的刀吞滅你們的先知，好像殘害人的獅子。

你的眼和你的心卻專顧不義之財，流無辜人的血，行欺壓和殘暴。

因此，我必將他們的妻子給別人，將他們的田地給別人為業；因為他們從最小的到最大的都貪圖不義之財，從先知到祭司全都行事虛假。

於是他對他們說：「你們要謹慎自守，躲避一切的貪心，因為人的生命不在於家道豐富。」

禍哉！犯罪的國民，擔着罪孽的百姓，行惡的族類，敗壞的兒女！他們離棄耶和華，藐視以色列的聖者，背向他，與他疏遠。

他耗盡了一切所有的，又恰逢那地方有大饑荒，就窮困起來。於是他去投靠當地的一個居民，那人打發他到田裏去放豬。他恨不得拿豬所吃的豆莢充飢，也沒有人給他甚麼吃的。

禍哉！你們以房接房，以地連地，以致不留餘地，只顧自己獨居境內。我耳聞萬軍之耶和華說：「許多房屋必然荒廢；宏偉華麗，無人居住。

他們如同百姓前來，來到你這裏，坐在你面前彷彿是我的子民。他們聽了你的話，卻不實行；因為他們口裏說愛，心卻追隨財利。

耶和華啊，你的眼目不是在尋找誠實嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不傷慟；你摧毀他們，他們仍不領受管教。他們使臉剛硬過於磐石，不肯回頭。

他們看上田地就佔據，貪圖房屋便奪取；他們欺壓戶主和他的家庭，霸佔人和他的產業。所以耶和華如此說：看哪，我籌劃災禍降與這家族；這災禍在你們頸項上無法解脫，你們也不能昂首而行，因為這是災禍的時刻。

我要等候那轉臉不顧雅各家的耶和華，也要仰望他。

他們因貪婪，要用捏造的言語在你們身上取得利益。他們的懲罰，自古以來並不遲延；他們的滅亡也必迅速來到。

但那些想要發財的人就陷在誘惑、羅網和許多無知有害的慾望中，使人沉淪，以致敗壞和滅亡。

眼睛所看的比心裏妄想的倒好。這也是虛空，也是捕風。

這百姓還沒有歸向擊打他們的主，也沒有尋求萬軍之耶和華。

所以，要治死你們在地上的肢體；就如淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾和貪婪－貪婪就是拜偶像。

他們滿眼是淫色，是止不住的罪，引誘心不堅定的人，心中習慣了貪婪，正是被詛咒的種類。

救主－以色列的上帝啊，你誠然是隱藏自己的上帝。
