我因他貪婪的罪孽就發怒擊打他，我向他隱藏、發怒；他卻仍然隨著自己的心意背道而行。

I was enraged by their sinful greed; I punished them, and hid my face in anger, yet they kept on in their willful ways.

I was very angry with them. They always longed for more and more of everything. So I punished them for that sin. I turned my face away from them because I was angry. But they kept on wanting their own way.

Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry, I struck him; I hid my face and was angry, but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.

I was angry, so I punished these greedy people. I withdrew from them, but they kept going on their own stubborn way.

這些狗非常貪食，不知飽足；他們作為牧人，卻沒有悟性；他們全都偏行己路，各人盡都謀求自己的利益。

至於淫亂和一切汙穢，或是貪心，在你們中間連提都不可提，這樣才與聖徒相宜。汙穢的言行、愚妄的話語、下流的笑話，這些都不合宜；反而倒要說感謝的話。實際上你們應當清楚知道這一點：所有淫亂的、汙穢的，或貪心的——就是拜偶像的——在基督和神的國度裡都得不到繼業。

接著耶穌對他們說：「你們要注意，要提防一切貪心，因為一個人的生命不在於他財產的豐厚。」

禍哉！有罪的國，罪孽深重的民，作惡者的後裔，敗壞的兒女！他們離棄耶和華，藐視以色列的聖者，轉背遠離他。

當他花盡了自己的一切，那地方又發生了嚴重的饑荒，他就開始窮困起來。於是他去投靠當地的一個居民，那人打發他到自己的田裡去放豬。他就是渴望拿豬吃的豆莢來充飢，也沒有人給他。

禍哉！你們這樣的人！你們使房屋連著房屋，田地接著田地，以致沒有多餘的空間，好獨自居住在那地當中。萬軍之耶和華起誓，讓我親耳聽見：「必有許多房屋成為廢墟，甚至那些又大又美的房屋也無人居住。

我要等候向雅各家掩面的耶和華，我要仰望他！

他們因著貪心，會用捏造的話利用你們。對他們的懲罰，從太古的時候就沒有失效，他們的滅亡也不耽延。

至於那些想發財的人就會陷入試探、網羅以及很多無知有害的欲望裡；這些欲望使人沉溺在敗壞和滅亡中。

眼睛所見的好過心裡妄想。這也是虛空，也是捕風！

然而，這百姓既不轉向擊打他們的那一位，也不尋求萬軍之耶和華。

所以，當把你們屬世的各個部分看為死了的，就如淫亂、汙穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像。

他們眼中充滿了淫慾和無止境的罪；他們引誘不堅定的人；他們心中習慣了貪婪；他們是被詛咒的兒女；

拯救者以色列的神哪，你確實是自我隱藏的神！
