For I will not contend forever, neither will I always be angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls whom I have made.

我之責人、不恆蓄怒、恐予所造之人、膽喪氣餒、

我必不永遠斥責、不恆久震怒、恐我所造之人、心神困憊、

I will not accuse them forever, nor will I always be angry, for then they would faint away because of me— the very people I have created.

I will not find fault with my people forever. I will not always be angry with them. If I were, I would cause their spirits to grow weak. The people I created would faint away.

Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness.

Will you be angry with us forever? Will you draw out your anger to all generations?

But he, being merciful, forgave iniquity, and didn’t destroy them. Yes, many times he turned his anger away, and didn’t stir up all his wrath.He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes away, and doesn’t come again.

Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?

Yahweh, correct me, but gently; not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing.

He will not always accuse; neither will he stay angry forever.He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor repaid us for our iniquities.For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him.As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him.For he knows how we are made. He remembers that we are dust.As for man, his days are like grass. As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.For the wind passes over it, and it is gone. Its place remembers it no more.

They fell on their faces, and said,“ God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?”

God Yahweh, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, he who spread out the earth and that which comes out of it, he who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk in it, says:

Yahweh said,“ My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; so his days will be one hundred twenty years.”

So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying,“ As Yahweh lives, who made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.”

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

A revelation, Yahweh’s word concerning Israel. Yahweh, who stretches out the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him says:

If he set his heart on himself, if he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath,all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.
