Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Let those who are evil stop doing evil things. And let them quit thinking evil thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord. The Lord will show them his tender love. Let them turn to our God. He is always ready to forgive.

Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, so he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

“ But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live.Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?

I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.

Again, though I say to the wicked,‘ You shall surely die,’ yet if he turns from his sin and does what is just and right,if the wicked restores the pledge, gives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks in the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die.None of the sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him. He has done what is just and right; he shall surely live.

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.

When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.

“ I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life.Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.Yet the house of Israel says,‘ The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?“ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel?For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”

O Jerusalem, wash your heart from evil, that you may be saved. How long shall your wicked thoughts lodge within you?

If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,

If I say to the wicked,‘ You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand.But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.

but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance.

Go and learn what this means:‘ I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.

Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say,“‘ Return, faithless Israel, declares the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever.Only acknowledge your guilt, that you rebelled against the Lord your God and scattered your favors among foreigners under every green tree, and that you have not obeyed my voice, declares the Lord.

to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight

And the Lord said to him,“ Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.You fools! Did not he who made the outside make the inside also?

Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity.Take with you words and return to the Lord; say to him,“ Take away all iniquity; accept what is good, and we will pay with bulls the vows of our lips.

Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil,learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.“ Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.

“ You shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: When men fall, do they not rise again? If one turns away, does he not return?Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they refuse to return.I have paid attention and listened, but they have not spoken rightly; no man relents of his evil, saying,‘ What have I done?’ Everyone turns to his own course, like a horse plunging headlong into battle.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven— for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,

Their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; desolation and destruction are in their highways.

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed,“ The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person.For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.

As for the scoundrel— his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right.

‘ The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’Please pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”

Therefore the showers have been withheld, and the spring rain has not come; yet you have the forehead of a whore; you refuse to be ashamed.

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption.

Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the Lord.”

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
