He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

到了晚上，有一個財主，名叫約瑟，是亞利馬太來的，他也是耶穌的門徒。這人去見彼拉多，請求要耶穌的身體，彼拉多就吩咐給他。約瑟取了身體，用乾淨的細麻布裹好，然後把他安放在自己的新墓穴裏，就是他鑿在巖石裏的。他又把大石頭滾到墓門口，然後離開。

上帝使那無罪的，替我們成為罪，好使我們在他裏面成為上帝的義。

看哪，我的僕人，我所扶持、所揀選、心裏所喜悅的！我已將我的靈賜給他，他必將公理傳給萬他不喧嚷，不揚聲，也不使街上聽見他的聲音。壓傷的蘆葦，他不折斷；將殘的燈火，他不吹滅。他憑信實將公理傳開。

因為我們的大祭司並非不能體恤我們的軟弱；他也在各方面受過試探，與我們一樣，只是他沒有犯罪。

有亞利馬太的約瑟前來，他是尊貴的議員，也是盼望着上帝國的，他放膽進去見彼拉多，請求要耶穌的身體。彼拉多詫異耶穌已經死了，就叫百夫長來，問他耶穌是不是死了很久；既從百夫長得知實情，就把耶穌的身體賜給約瑟。約瑟買了細麻布，把耶穌取下來，用細麻布裹好，安放在巖石中鑿出來的墓穴裏，又滾來一塊石頭擋住墓門。

這些事以後，亞利馬太的約瑟來求彼拉多，要把耶穌的身體領去。他是耶穌的門徒，只因怕猶太人，就暗地裏作門徒。彼拉多准許了，他就把耶穌的身體領走。尼哥德慕也來了，就是先前夜裏去見耶穌的那位，他帶着約一百斤的沒藥和沉香。他們照猶太人喪葬的規矩，用細麻布加上香料，把耶穌的身體裹好了。在耶穌釘十字架的地方有一個園子，園子裏有一座新墓穴，是從來沒有葬過人的。因為那天是猶太人的預備日，而那墳墓又在附近，他們就把耶穌安放在那裏。

有一個人名叫約瑟，是個議員，為人善良正直，卻沒有附從別人的所謀所為。他是猶太的亞利馬太城人，素常盼望着上帝的國。這人去見彼拉多，請求要耶穌的身體。他把耶穌的身體取下來，用細麻布裹好，安放在鑿巖而成的墳墓裏；那墳墓從來沒有葬過人。

這樣一位聖潔、無邪惡、無玷污、遠離罪人、高過諸天的大祭司，對我們是最合適的；

而且埋葬了；又照聖經所說，第三天復活了，
