到了晚上，有一个财主，名叫约瑟，是亚利马太来的，他也是耶稣的门徒。这人去见彼拉多，请求要耶稣的身体，彼拉多就吩咐给他。约瑟取了身体，用干净的细麻布裹好，然后把他安放在自己的新墓穴里，就是他凿在岩石里的。他又把大石头滚到墓门口，然后离开。

神使那无罪的，替我们成为罪，好使我们在他里面成为神的义。

看哪，我的仆人，我所扶持、所拣选、心里所喜悦的！我已将我的灵赐给他，他必将公理传给万邦。他不喧嚷，不扬声，也不使街上听见他的声音。压伤的芦苇，他不折断；将残的灯火，他不吹灭。他凭信实将公理传开。

因为我们的大祭司并非不能体恤我们的软弱；他也在各方面受过试探，与我们一样，只是他没有犯罪。

有亚利马太的约瑟前来，他是尊贵的议员，也是盼望着神国的，他放胆进去见彼拉多，请求要耶稣的身体。彼拉多诧异耶稣已经死了，就叫百夫长来，问他耶稣是不是死了很久；既从百夫长得知实情，就把耶稣的身体赐给约瑟。约瑟买了细麻布，把耶稣取下来，用细麻布裹好，安放在岩石中凿出来的墓穴里，又滚来一块石头挡住墓门。

这些事以后，亚利马太的约瑟来求彼拉多，要把耶稣的身体领去。他是耶稣的门徒，只因怕犹太人，就暗地里作门徒。彼拉多准许了，他就把耶稣的身体领走。尼哥德慕也来了，就是先前夜里去见耶稣的那位，他带着约一百斤的没药和沉香。他们照犹太人丧葬的规矩，用细麻布加上香料，把耶稣的身体裹好了。在耶稣钉十字架的地方有一个园子，园子里有一座新墓穴，是从来没有葬过人的。因为那天是犹太人的预备日，而那坟墓又在附近，他们就把耶稣安放在那里。

有一个人名叫约瑟，是个议员，为人善良正直，却没有附从别人的所谋所为。他是犹太的亚利马太城人，素常盼望着神的国。这人去见彼拉多，请求要耶稣的身体。他把耶稣的身体取下来，用细麻布裹好，安放在凿岩而成的坟墓里；那坟墓从来没有葬过人。

这样一位圣洁、无邪恶、无玷污、远离罪人、高过诸天的大祭司，对我们是最合适的；

而且埋葬了；又照圣经所说，第三天复活了，
