He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

他在世界，世界是藉着他造的，世界却不认识他。他来到自己的地方，自己的人并不接纳他。凡接纳他的，就是信他名的人，他就赐他们权柄作上帝的儿女。这些人不是从血生的，不是从情欲生的，也不是从人的意愿生的，而是从上帝生的。道成了肉身，住在我们中间，充充满满地有恩典有真理，我们也见过他的荣光，正是父独一儿子的荣光。

耶稣说：“以利亚的确先来复兴万事。经上不是指着人子说，他要受许多的苦和被人轻慢吗？

“看哪，日子将到，我要为大卫兴起公义的苗裔；他必掌王权，行事有智慧，在地上施行公平和公义。这是耶和华说的。

这不是那木匠吗？不是马利亚的儿子雅各、约西、犹大、西门的长兄吗？他姊妹们不也是在我们这里吗？”他们就厌弃他。

那日是逾越节的预备日，约在正午。彼拉多对犹太人说：“看哪，你们的王！”他们就喊着：“除掉他！除掉他！把他钉十字架！”彼拉多对他们说：“要我把你们的王钉十字架吗？”祭司长回答：“除了凯撒，我们没有王。”

耶稣对他说：“狐狸有洞，天空的飞鸟有窝，人子却没有枕头的地方。”

耶稣出来，戴着荆棘冠冕，穿着紫袍。彼拉多对他们说：“看哪，这个人！”

律法既因肉体软弱而无能为力，上帝就差遣自己的儿子成为罪身的样子，为了对付罪，在肉体中定了罪，

他们就骂他：“你是他的门徒，而我们是摩西的门徒。上帝对摩西说话是我们知道的，可是这个人，我们不知道他从哪里来。”

或是君王所派惩恶赏善的官员。

对他说，万军之耶和华如此说：‘看哪，那名称为大卫苗裔的，要在本处生长，并要建造耶和华的殿。

他们又再喊着说：“不要这人！要巴拉巴！”这巴拉巴是个强盗。

约瑟和马利亚照主的律法办完了一切的事，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。孩子渐渐长大，强健起来，充满智慧，又有上帝的恩典在他身上。

就生了头胎的儿子，用布包起来，放在马槽里，因为客店里没有地方。

他就同他们下去，回到拿撒勒，并且顺从他们。他母亲把这一切的事都存在心里。耶稣的智慧和身量，并上帝和人喜爱他的心，都一齐增长。
