For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ At first my people went down to Egypt to live; lately, Assyria has oppressed them.

The Lord and King continues,“ Long ago my people went down to Egypt. They lived there for a while. Later, Assyria crushed them without any reason.

For thus says the Lord God:“ My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there, and the Assyrian oppressed them for nothing.

This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ Long ago my people chose to live in Egypt. Now they are oppressed by Assyria.

For this is what the Lord GOD says:“ At first my people went down to Egypt to reside there, then Assyria oppressed them without cause.

For this is what the Lord God says:“ My people went down to Egypt first to reside there; then the Assyrian oppressed them without reason.

雅各與一切子孫、攜牲畜、及在迦南地所獲諸物、咸至伊及、

主問撒但曰、爾曾諦觀我僕約百否、世無人如彼、篤實正直、敬畏天主、遠離惡事、我聽爾言、無故降災於彼、彼仍持守其善、

無故怨我者、多於我髮、無故憾我欲害我者、亦甚強盛、我未曾搶奪、令我償還、

是皆為應其律法所載云、彼無故而惡我、

以色列族、若亡羊為獅所驅、初、亞述王食其肉、後、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒折其骨、

希西家王十四年、亞述王西拿基立上攻猶大一切鞏固之城取焉、亞述王遣拉伯沙基統率大軍、自拉吉往耶路撒冷、攻希西家王、乃立於上池之引水溝旁、在濯衣者濯衣者或作漂布工田之道側、希勒家子家宰以利雅敬、繕寫舍伯拿、亞薩子史官約亞、俱出而見之、拉伯沙基謂之曰、爾曹告希西家曰、亞述大王如是云、爾何所恃耶、我曰、爾自言有計謀、有勇力、足以交戰、此言俱虛、爾今恃誰而敢悖逆我耶、爾恃伊及國乎、豈知彼猶已折之葦、人若倚其上、必刺入其手、凡恃伊及王法老者亦若是、爾或告我曰、我儕恃主我之天主、乃希西家曾廢其邱壇與祭臺、命猶大人及耶路撒冷居民曰、但當在一一原文作此祭臺前崇拜、今爾與我主亞述王和好、則我予爾馬二千匹、爾能有馬卒乘之乎、既不能、何能禦我主王之僕中至微之武士長乎、爾恃伊及、望得戰車馬卒乎、亦徒然也、今我來攻此國以滅之、非無主之旨、主命我來攻此國以滅之、以利雅敬、舍伯拿、約亞、告拉伯沙基曰、求爾用亞蘭言與僕語、蓋我儕識之、勿用猶大言與我儕語、恐城上之民聞之、拉伯沙基曰、我主王遣我、豈使我以此言僅告爾主王與爾乎、非使我告坐於城上之民、將偕爾食己糞飲己溺者乎、拉伯沙基遂立、用猶大言、大聲呼曰、爾曹須聽亞述大王之言、王如是云、勿為希西家所誘、彼不能救爾曹、勿聽希西家使爾恃主之言、彼曰、主必救我儕、此城不致陷於亞述王手、勿聽希西家之言、蓋亞述王如是云、爾當與我修好、出而降我、則爾可各食己葡萄樹及無花果樹之果、各飲己井之水、迨我來遷爾至一地、與爾之地無異、即有穀、有酒、有糧、糧原文作餅有葡萄園之地、希西家誘爾曰、主必救我儕、爾勿聽之、列國之諸神、何嘗有神救其國、脫於亞述王之手、哈末與亞珥拔之神安在、西法瓦音之神安在、撒瑪利亞之諸神、何嘗救撒瑪利亞脫於我手、列國之諸神中、有誰救其國脫於我手、獨主能救耶路撒冷脫於我手乎、眾靜默不答一言、因王命曰、勿答之、希勒西家子家宰以利雅敬、繕寫舍伯拿、亞薩子史官約亞、自裂其衣、至希西家前、以拉伯沙基之言告之、

必敗亞述人於我國中、踐之於我山間、使以色列民脫於其軛、使以色列民之肩脫於其任、

一切仰望主者必不羞愧、惟無故背叛主者必羞愧、

約瑟遂遣兄弟、請其父雅各與全家、凡七十五人偕至、於是雅各下伊及、後與我列祖皆終、
