Just as there were many who were appalled at him— his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness—

Many people were shocked when they saw him. He was so scarred that he no longer looked like a person. His body was so twisted that he did not look like a human being anymore.

But many were amazed when they saw him. His face was so disfigured he seemed hardly human, and from his appearance, one would scarcely know he was a man.

Just as many were appalled at you— his appearance was so disfigured that he did not look like a man, and his form did not resemble a human being—

I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard; I hid not my face from disgrace and spitting.

I can count all my bones— they stare and gloat over me;

But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

Then they spit in his face and struck him. And some slapped him,

And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded,

And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him,“ Then who can be saved?”

When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away.The same day Sadducees came to him, who say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him a question,

and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying,“ Hail, King of the Jews!”And they spit on him and took the reed and struck him on the head.

my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death.

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;

And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,

And immediately the girl got up and began walking( for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement.

For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace.My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread.Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh.

I have been as a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge.

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying,“ He has done all things well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. And taking the twelve again, he began to tell them what was to happen to him,

They also blindfolded him and kept asking him,“ Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?”

And they were all amazed and said to one another,“ What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying,“ We have seen extraordinary things today.”
