Wake up, arm of the Lord! Wake up! Dress yourself with strength as if it were your clothes! Wake up, just as you did in the past. Wake up, as you did long ago. Didn’t you cut Rahab to pieces? Didn’t you stab that sea monster to death?

Wake up, wake up, O Lord! Clothe yourself with strength! Flex your mighty right arm! Rouse yourself as in the days of old when you slew Egypt, the dragon of the Nile.

Wake up, wake up! Arm of the LORD, clothe yourself with strength. Wake up as in days past, as in generations long ago. Wasn’t it you who hacked Rahab to pieces, who pierced the sea monster?

Wake up, wake up! Put on the strength of the Lord’s power. Wake up as in days past, as in generations of long ago. Wasn’t it You who hacked Rahab to pieces, who pierced the sea monster?

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old.[ Art] thou not it that hath cut Rahab,[ and] wounded the dragon?

Wake up! Wake up! Clothe yourself with strength, O arm of the LORD! Wake up as in former times, as in antiquity! Did you not smash the Proud One? Did you not wound the sea monster?

Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh! Awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn’t it you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?

You divided the sea by your might; you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters.You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.

In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Wake yourself, wake yourself, stand up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk from the hand of the Lord the cup of his wrath, who have drunk to the dregs the bowl, the cup of staggering.

Egypt’s help is worthless and empty; therefore I have called her“ Rahab who sits still.”

You crushed Rahab like a carcass; you scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

Arise, O Lord, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment.

The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm:“ I will not again give your grain to be food for your enemies, and foreigners shall not drink your wine for which you have labored;

speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God:“ Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his streams, that says,‘ My Nile is my own; I made it for myself.’

O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us, what deeds you performed in their days, in the days of old:

By his power he stilled the sea; by his understanding he shattered Rahab.

Woe to him who says to a wooden thing, Awake; to a silent stone, Arise! Can this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in it.

Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush—“ This one was born there,” they say.

Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever!

He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to intercede; then his own arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness upheld him.He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.

My righteousness draws near, my salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands hope for me, and for my arm they wait.

Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the house of the wicked, laying him bare from thigh to neck. Selah

The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.

Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.

He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;

so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:“ Lord, who has believed what he heard from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

for no fault of mine, they run and make ready. Awake, come to meet me, and see!

Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, and by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great deeds of terror, all of which the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

You are the Lord, the God who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and gave him the name Abraham.You found his heart faithful before you, and made with him the covenant to give to his offspring the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite. And you have kept your promise, for you are righteous.“ And you saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea,and performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh and all his servants and all the people of his land, for you knew that they acted arrogantly against our fathers. And you made a name for yourself, as it is to this day.And you divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on dry land, and you cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into mighty waters.By a pillar of cloud you led them in the day, and by a pillar of fire in the night to light for them the way in which they should go.You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from heaven and gave them right rules and true laws, good statutes and commandments,and you made known to them your holy Sabbath and commanded them commandments and statutes and a law by Moses your servant.You gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and brought water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and you told them to go in to possess the land that you had sworn to give them.

And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world— he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine.

saying,“ We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign.

And Gideon said to him,“ Please, my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying,‘ Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.”
