惟爾敵人、素使爾曲躬俯伏、俟其踰越而行、若遨遊於通衢、我必使彼飲焉。

必授於虐遇爾者之手、彼曾謂爾曰、爾屈伏爾躬、任我儕由其上踰越而行、遂使爾背若塵土、若通衢、任人往來、

I will put it into the hands of your tormentors, who said to you,‘ Fall prostrate that we may walk on you.’ And you made your back like the ground, like a street to be walked on.”

Instead, I will give it to those who made you suffer. They said to you,‘ Fall down flat on the ground. Then we can walk all over you.’ And that is exactly what you did. You made your back like a street to be walked on.”

Instead, I will hand that cup to your tormentors, those who said,‘ We will trample you into the dust and walk on your backs.’”

Also the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.“ Therefore you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Drink, be drunk, and vomit! Fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ You shall certainly drink!For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’

But thus says the Lord:“ Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children.I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, And they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine. All flesh shall know That I, the Lord, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.

And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, And the unfaithful for the upright.
