look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was only one man, and I blessed him and made him many.

Consider Abraham. He is the father of your people. Think about Sarah. She is your mother. When I chose Abraham, he did not have any children. But I blessed him and gave him many of them.

Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for he was but one when I called him, that I might bless him and multiply him.

Yes, think about Abraham, your ancestor, and Sarah, who gave birth to your nation. Abraham was only one man when I called him. But when I blessed him, he became a great nation.”

For it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”Now that no man is justified by the law before God is evident, for,“ The righteous will live by faith.”The law is not of faith, but,“ The man who does them will live by them.”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,”that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age. Sarah had passed the age of childbearing.Sarah laughed within herself, saying,“ After I have grown old will I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”Yahweh said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh, saying,‘ Will I really bear a child when I am old?’

After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying,“ Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”Abram said,“ Lord Yahweh, what will you give me, since I go childless, and he who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”

Yahweh has blessed my master greatly. He has become great. Yahweh has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male servants and female servants, and camels and donkeys.

Therefore Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, says concerning the house of Jacob:“ Jacob shall no longer be ashamed, neither shall his face grow pale.

that I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.

Abraham was old, and well advanced in age. Yahweh had blessed Abraham in all things.

What then will we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh?For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not toward God.For what does the Scripture say?“ Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed.But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.

By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went.By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.For he looked for the city which has the foundations, whose builder and maker is God.By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.

Yahweh said to Abram, after Lot was separated from him,“ Now, lift up your eyes, and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward,for I will give all the land which you see to you and to your offspring forever.I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can count the dust of the earth, then your offspring may also be counted.Arise, walk through the land in its length and in its width; for I will give it to you.”

Behold, Yahweh’s word came to him, saying,“ This man will not be your heir, but he who will come out of your own body will be your heir.”Yahweh brought him outside, and said,“ Look now toward the sky, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” He said to Abram,“ So your offspring will be.”

Now Yahweh said to Abram,“ Leave your country, and your relatives, and your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you.I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who treats you with contempt. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you.”

I took your father Abraham from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his offspring, and gave him Isaac.

For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the offspring, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.As it is written,“ I have made you a father of many nations.” This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.Besides hope, Abraham in hope believed, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken,“ So will your offspring be.”Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out,( he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God,and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform.Therefore it also was“ credited to him for righteousness.”Now it was not written that it was accounted to him for his sake alone,but for our sake also, to whom it will be accounted, who believe in him who raised Jesus, our Lord, from the dead,

You are Yahweh, the God who chose Abram, brought him out of Ur of the Chaldees, gave him the name of Abraham,found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it to his offspring, and have performed your words; for you are righteous.
