The cowering prisoners will soon be set free; they will not die in their dungeon, nor will they lack bread.

他們就拿住耶利米，把他丟在王的兒子瑪基雅的井裏；那口井在護衛兵的院中。他們用繩子把耶利米縋下去，井裏沒有水，只有淤泥，耶利米就陷在淤泥中。在王宮裏的太監古實人以伯‧米勒，聽見他們把耶利米丟進井裏，那時王坐在便雅憫門前。以伯‧米勒從王宮裏出來，對王說：「主－我的王啊，這些人向耶利米先知一味地行惡，把他丟在井裏；他在那裏必因飢餓而死，因為城裏不再有糧食了。」王就吩咐古實人以伯‧米勒說：「你從這裏帶領三十人，趁耶利米先知還沒死，把他從井裏拉上來。」於是以伯‧米勒帶領這些人同去，進入王宮，到庫房以下，從那裏取了些碎布和破衣服，用繩子縋下去，到井裏耶利米那裏。古實人以伯‧米勒對耶利米說：「你用這些碎布和破衣服放在繩子上，墊你的腋下。」耶利米就照樣做。這樣，他們用繩子將耶利米從井裏拉上來。耶利米仍在護衛兵的院中。

忽然，有主的一個使者顯現，牢房裏有光照耀；天使拍彼得的肋旁，叫醒了他，說：「快起來！」鐵鏈就從他手上脫落下來。天使對他說：「束上腰帶，穿上鞋子。」他就照着做了。天使又對他說：「披上外衣，跟我來。」

於是，猶大和便雅憫的族長、祭司、利未人，凡是心被神感動的人都起來，要上耶路撒冷去建造耶和華的殿。

他們不飢不渴，炎熱和烈日必不傷害他們；因為憐憫他們的必引導他們，領他們到水泉旁邊。

耶利米來到地牢，進入牢房，在那裏拘留多日。

他們要在坑中了結我的性命，丟石頭在我身上。眾水淹沒我的頭，我說：「我沒命了！」
