I— I am the one who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear humans who die, or a son of man who is given up like grass?

耶和华说：“安慰你们的是我，是我。你为什么要害怕难逃一死、生命如草芥的世人呢？

“我，我耶和华是安慰你们的；你是谁，竟怕那会死的人，怕那被造如草的世人呢？

“我，是我安慰你们；你是谁，竟怕那必死的人，就是那被弃如草芥的世人；

惟有我，是安慰你們的。你是誰，竟怕那必死的人？怕那要變如草的世人？

我，惟有我是安慰你們的。你是誰，竟怕那必死的人，怕那生命如草的世人，

『是我，我親自安慰你們的；你怎麼啦，你竟怕那會死的人，怕那生成如草的世人呀！

「我，是我安慰你們；你是誰，竟怕那必死的人，就是那被棄如草芥的世人；

主曰、慰藉爾者我也、爾何人斯、乃畏必死之世人、懼如草之人子、

耶和華曰、我慰藉爾、斯世之人、俱將淪亡、儗於草萊、何為畏之。

主曰、慰藉爾者惟我、惟我、爾為誰、竟懼必死之人、畏彼似草萊之世人、世人或作亞當之子

“ I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass,

The Lord says to his people,“ I comfort you because of who I am. Why are you afraid of mere human beings? They are like grass that dries up.

“ I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, of the son of man who is made like grass,

“ I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans, who wither like the grass and disappear?

“ I, I Myself, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of mortal man, And of a son of man who is made like grass,

“ I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid Of a man who will die, And of the son of a man who will be made like grass?

I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou art afraid of man that shall die, and of the son of man that shall be made as grass;

I— I am the One who comforts you. Who are you that you should fear man who dies, or a son of man who is given up like grass?

I,[ even] I,[ am] he that comforteth you: who[ art] thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man[ that] shall die, and of the son of man[ which] shall be made[ as] grass;

“ I, I am the one who consoles you. Why are you afraid of mortal men, of mere human beings who are as short-lived as grass?

“ I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who will be made as grass?

The LORD is for me; I will not be afraid. What can a mere mortal do to me?

For All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like a flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls,

“ I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.“ Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.

Put no more trust in a mere human, who has only the breath in his nostrils. What is he really worth?

As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you, and you will be comforted in Jerusalem.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.For just as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

For the LORD will comfort Zion; he will comfort all her waste places, and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and melodious song.

but let the rich boast in his humiliation because he will pass away like a flower of the field.For the sun rises and, together with the scorching wind, dries up the grass; its flower falls off, and its beautiful appearance perishes. In the same way, the rich person will wither away while pursuing his activities.

In fact, when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest. Instead, we were troubled in every way: conflicts on the outside, fears within.But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the arrival of Titus,

You end their lives; they sleep. They are like grass that grows in the morning—in the morning it sprouts and grows; by evening it withers and dries up.

Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

“ I am the one, I sweep away your transgressions for my own sake and remember your sins no more.

As for man, his days are like grass— he blooms like a flower of the field;when the wind passes over it, it vanishes, and its place is no longer known.

“ I say to you, my friends, don’t fear those who kill the body, and after that can do nothing more.But I will show you the one to fear: Fear him who has authority to throw people into hell after death. Yes, I say to you, this is the one to fear!

Many desire a ruler’s favor, but a person receives justice from the LORD.

Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my instruction: do not fear disgrace by men, and do not be shattered by their taunts.For moths will devour them like a garment, and worms will eat them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, and my salvation for all generations.

For the High and Exalted One, who lives forever, whose name is holy, says this:“ I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.For I will not accuse you forever, and I will not always be angry; for then the spirit would grow weak before me, even the breath, which I have made.Because of his sinful greed I was angry, so I struck him; I was angry and hid; but he went on turning back to the desires of his heart.I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners,

though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be eternally destroyed.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to the king,“ Nebuchadnezzar, we don’t need to give you an answer to this question.If the God we serve exists, then he can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and he can rescue us from the power of you, the king.But even if he does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”

A voice was saying,“ Cry out!” Another said,“ What should I cry out?”“ All humanity is grass, and all its goodness is like the flower of the field.The grass withers, the flowers fade when the breath of the LORD blows on them; indeed, the people are grass.

When his breath leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die.

So the church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
