Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field till no space is left and you live alone in the land.

How terrible it will be for you who get too many houses! How terrible for you who get too many fields! Finally there won’t be any space left in the land. Then you will live all alone.

Woe to those who join house to house, who add field to field, until there is no more room, and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land.

What sorrow for you who buy up house after house and field after field, until everyone is evicted and you live alone in the land.

然後對他們講了一個比喻，說：「有一個富有的人，田地豐收了。他就心裡盤算：『我沒有地方儲存我的產物了，做什麼呢？』他就說：『我要這麼做：拆掉我的這些倉庫，另建更大的，把我所有的麥子和美物收集在那裡。然後，我要對我的靈魂說：靈魂哪，你擁有了很多好東西，足以享用多年，你就休息、吃喝、慶祝吧。』「可是神對他說：『你這愚妄的人哪！今夜，他們就要召回你的靈魂了。那麼，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』「那為自己積蓄財富而在神面前不富足的人，也是這樣。」耶穌又對他的門徒們說：「所以我告訴你們：不要為你們的生命而憂慮吃什麼，也不要為身體而憂慮穿什麼。因為生命比食物更重要，身體比衣服更重要。應該想一想烏鴉：牠們不撒種，也不收割，沒有倉也沒有庫，神尚且養活牠們；更何況你們，你們比飛鳥還重要呢！

「經文士和法利賽人哪，你們這些偽善的人有禍了！因為你們在人的面前封閉了天國。你們自己不進去，也不讓正要進的人進去。
