“到那日，所有种过一千棵葡萄树、值一千块银子的地方，都必成为荆棘和蒺藜之地。人到那里去，就必带弓和箭，因为遍地都是荆棘和蒺藜。所有被锄头翻耕过的山地，你都不会上去，因为你惧怕荆棘和蒺藜；那里必成为放牛之地、羊群践踏之处。”

看哪！耶和华使大地空废，变得荒凉；又使地面扭曲，使地上的居民四散。那时，百姓怎样，祭司也怎样；仆人怎样，主人也怎样；婢女怎样，主母也怎样；购买的怎样，贩卖的也怎样；借给人的怎样，向人借的也怎样；放债的怎样，借债的也怎样。大地必彻底空废，被掠夺净尽，因为耶和华已经说了这话。

主必赐下雨水给你播在地里的种子，并要使地里出肥美丰盛的粮食。到那日，你的牲畜将在宽阔的草场上吃草；

城中只有废墟残留，城门被打得破碎不堪。

却背弃了真理，就不可能再次更新以至于悔改了。因为他们亲自把神的儿子再次钉上十字架，公然羞辱他。要知道，当一块田地吸收了常常降在它上面的雨水，并且为种地的人长出有用菜蔬时，它就享受从神而来的祝福；但如果它长出荆棘和蒺藜，就没有用处了，很快就要被诅咒，它的结局就是被焚烧。

我就说：“主啊，这要到什么时候呢？”他说：“直到城镇废弃，无人居住，房屋空无一人，土地废弃荒凉的时候；那时，耶和华必把人迁到远方，在这地上必有很多被遗弃之处。

为着我民那长荆棘和蒺藜之地，为着欢腾之城的一切欢乐之家，你们捶胸哀哭吧！因为城堡将被撇弃，喧闹的城市将被遗弃，山冈和守望楼将成为兽穴，直到永远，成为野驴的喜乐之地和畜群的草场。

他们将倒在刀口下，被掳到各国去。耶路撒冷将要被外邦人践踏，直到外邦人的日期满了。

这两个人有权柄闭塞天空，使雨水在他们做先知传道的日子不降下来；又有权柄统管众水，使水变成血，并且能随时随意用各样灾害击打大地。

万军之耶和华起誓，让我亲耳听见：“必有许多房屋成为废墟，甚至那些又大又美的房屋也无人居住。四百公亩葡萄园只出二十二公升的酒；二百二十公升谷种只出二十二公升的粮食。”
