He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both[ are] abomination to the LORD.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied[ him]? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil[ is] good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where[ is] the God of judgment?

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great[ is] that darkness!

They change the night into day: the light[ is] short because of darkness.

Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

For when they speak great swelling[ words] of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh,[ through much] wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.But ye say, Whosoever shall say to[ his] father or[ his] mother,[ It is] a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;And honour not his father or his mother,[ he shall be free]. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Woe unto you,[ ye] blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor![ Ye] fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.[ Ye] fools and blind: for whether[ is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier[ matters] of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea,[ they that] tempt God are even delivered.
