Therefore Death expands its jaws, opening wide its mouth; into it will descend their nobles and masses with all their brawlers and revelers.

So Death opens its jaws to receive them. Its mouth is open wide to swallow them up. Their nobles and the rest of the people will go down into it. They will go there together with all those who have wild parties.

Therefore Sheol has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth beyond measure, and the nobility of Jerusalem and her multitude will go down, her revelers and he who exults in her.

The grave is licking its lips in anticipation, opening its mouth wide. The great and the lowly and all the drunken mob will be swallowed up.

Therefore Sheol enlarges its throat and opens wide its enormous jaws, and down go Zion’s dignitaries, her masses, her crowds, and those who celebrate in her!

Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth beyond measure; And Jerusalem’s splendor, her multitude, her noise of revelry, and the jubilant within her, descend into it.

So Death will open up its throat, and open wide its mouth; Zion’s dignitaries and masses will descend into it, including those who revel and celebrate within her.

“你们要谨慎自守，免得你们的心因宴乐、醉酒和今生的忧虑变得迟钝，那日子就会像网罗一样突然临到你们，

于是，海洋交出了其中的死人，死亡和阴间也交出了其中的死人；每个人都照着自己的行为受审判。然后，死亡和阴间被丢进火湖里，这火湖就是第二次的死亡。凡是名字没有被记在生命册上的人，都被丢进了火湖里。

在指定的日子，希律穿上王袍，坐在审判席上，向他们公开演说。民众一直喊叫：“这是神的声音，不是人的声音。”主的一位天使立刻击打希律，因为他没有把荣耀归给神。他被虫咬蚀，就断了气。

他们像注定下到阴间的羊群，死亡将作他们的牧者；到了清晨，正直人将管辖他们。他们的形体必被阴间吞噬，无处容身。

人们继续吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亚进方舟的那一天，洪水到来，把一切都毁灭了。

阴间地府，从不饱足；人的眼目，也不饱足。

“地下的阴间骚动起来迎接你的到来，并为你唤醒阴魂，就是所有生前在地上作过领袖的阴魂；又使所有生前作过列国君王的都从自己宝座上起来。

愿死亡突然毁灭他们，愿他们活活下到阴间！因为恶事在他们的住处，就在他们当中。

又有一个穷人，名叫拉撒路，满身脓疮，被放在财主的门口，渴望得到财主桌子上掉下来的碎渣充饥，甚至有狗来舔他的疮。后来那穷人死了，被天使们带到亚伯拉罕的怀里。接着，那财主也死了，并且被埋葬了。财主在阴间的痛苦中，举目远远地望见亚伯拉罕，又望见拉撒路在他怀里，

让我们活活地囫囵吞掉他们，就像阴间吞掉那些下阴坑的人；

就是：阴间、不孕的母胎、水源不足的土地、不说“够了”的火。

我的心慌乱，恐怖惊扰着我，我所爱慕的黄昏竟使我恐惧。

原来，那焚烧场早已安排好了，是为君王所预备的；它又深又宽，其中充满了火和许多木柴；耶和华的气息如同一股硫磺火使它燃烧起来。

“你们要从窄门进去；因为那通向灭亡的门是大的，那条路是宽的，从那里进去的人也多；

然后，我要对我的灵魂说：灵魂哪，你拥有了很多好东西，足以享用多年，你就休息、吃喝、庆祝吧。’“可是神对他说：‘你这愚妄的人哪！今夜，他们就要召回你的灵魂了。那么，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

于是人把圣殿——耶路撒冷神的殿中所取走的金器皿带来，王和他的大臣们、妻子们、妃嫔们就用这些来喝酒。他们一边喝酒，一边称赞那些用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神明。那时，忽然有人的手指头出现，在灯台对面王宫的粉墙上写字。王看到那正在写字的手，王的脸色就变了，他的意念使他惶恐，他的腰骨松脱，双膝彼此相碰。

娅比盖回到纳巴尔那里，看哪，他在家里摆设宴席，像王的宴席一样。纳巴尔心情好，醉得很厉害，所以娅比盖无论大事小事都没有告诉他，直到早晨天亮。到了早晨，纳巴尔酒醒后，他的妻子把这些事告诉他，他就失去了意识，身体变得硬如石头。大约过了十天，耶和华击打纳巴尔，他就死了。

当夜，迦勒底人的王伯沙撒被杀了。
