誰知，人倒歡喜快樂，宰牛殺羊，吃肉喝酒，說：我們吃喝吧！因為明天要死了。

你為甚麼暗暗地逃跑，偷着走，並不告訴我，叫我可以歡樂、唱歌、擊鼓、彈琴地送你回去？

這樣的人在你們的愛席上與你們同吃的時候，正是礁石。他們作牧人，只知餵養自己，無所懼怕；是沒有雨的雲彩，被風飄蕩；是秋天沒有果子的樹，死而又死，連根被拔出來；

他們打發小孩子出去，多如羊羣；他們的兒女踴躍跳舞。他們隨着琴鼓歌唱，又因簫聲歡喜。他們度日諸事亨通，轉眼下入陰間。他們對神說：離開我們吧！我們不願曉得你的道。

他們吃，卻不得飽；行淫，而不得立後；因為他們離棄耶和華，不遵他的命。姦淫和酒，並新酒，奪去人的心。

說：任他急速行，趕快成就他的作為，使我們看看；任以色列聖者所謀劃的臨近成就，使我們知道。

竟向天上的主自高，使人將他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、皇后、妃嬪用這器皿飲酒。你又讚美那不能看、不能聽、無知無識、金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神，卻沒有將榮耀歸與那手中有你氣息，管理你一切行動的神。

你們躺臥在象牙牀上，舒身在榻上，吃羣中的羊羔，棚裏的牛犢；彈琴鼓瑟唱消閑的歌曲，為自己製造樂器，如同大衛所造的；以大碗喝酒，用上等的油抹身，卻不為約瑟的苦難擔憂。

耶和華啊，你的工作何其大！你的心思極其深！畜類人不曉得；愚頑人也不明白。
