耶和華說：「女人怎能忘記自己吃奶的嬰孩，不憐憫她親生的孩子呢？即使她們可能忘記，我也不會忘記你。

夫婦豈能忘哺乳之嬰、不慈所妊之子、彼或忘之、我不忘爾、

夫婦豈忘哺乳之子、不慈甫產之嬰、彼或忘子、我不忘爾。

然婦豈忘哺乳之嬰、不慈所產之子乎、彼或忘子、我不忘爾、

“ Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

The Lord answers,“ Can a mother forget the baby who is nursing at her breast? Can she stop having tender love for the child who was born to her? She might forget her child. But I will not forget you.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.

“ Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, these may forget, yet will not I forget thee.

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.

Can a woman forget her baby who nurses at her breast? Can she withhold compassion from the child she has borne? Even if mothers were to forget, I could never forget you!

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!

As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

“ Remember these, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant; O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me!

“ When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.

Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For though I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

The hands of the compassionate women Have cooked their own children; They became food for them In the destruction of the daughter of my people.

When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal heirs.But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being murdered; and they hid him and his nurse in the bedroom, from Athaliah, so that he was not killed.

“ They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,“ On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.”

Then the king said to her,“ What is troubling you?” And she answered,“ This woman said to me,‘ Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’So we boiled my son, and ate him. And I said to her on the next day,‘ Give your son, that we may eat him’; but she has hidden her son.”

Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said,“ O my Lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said,“ Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.”So the king answered and said,“ Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him; she is his mother.”

Even the jackals present their breasts To nurse their young; But the daughter of my people is cruel, Like ostriches in the wilderness.

The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and sensitivity, will refuse to the husband of her bosom, and to her son and her daughter,her placenta which comes out from between her feet and her children whom she bears; for she will eat them secretly for lack of everything in the siege and desperate straits in which your enemy shall distress you at all your gates.

Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;

You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters.
