“看哪！我要作一件新的事；现在它要发生了，难道你们还不知道吗？我要在旷野开一条道路，在荒地开挖江河。野地的走兽必尊重我，野狗和鸵鸟也必这样，因为我使旷野有水，使荒地有江河，好使我拣选的子民有水喝，

那时，瘸子必像鹿一般跳跃，哑巴的舌头必大声欢呼；旷野必涌出大水，沙漠必流出江河。灼热的沙地必变为水池，干旱之地必变成泉源；在野狗的住处，就是它们躺卧之处，必成为青草、芦苇和蒲草生长的地方。

看哪，我必在何烈山那里的磐石上站在你面前；你要击打磐石，就必有水从磐石流出来，使人民可以喝。”摩西就在以色列的长老眼前这样行了。

困苦和贫穷的人寻求水，却没有水；他们的舌头因口渴而干燥；我耶和华必应允他们，我以色列的神必不离弃他们。我要在光秃的高处开辟江河，在山谷之间开辟泉源；我要使旷野变为水池，使干地变成水泉。

他虽曾击打磐石，使水涌出来，好像江河泛滥，他还能赐粮食吗？他还能为自己的子民预备肉食吗？”

摩西举手，用杖击打磐石两次，就有很多水流出来，会众和他们的牲畜都喝了。

你从天上赐下粮食，给他们充饥，吩咐水从磐石流出来给他们解渴；你又吩咐他们进去占领，你举手起誓要赐给他们的那地。

他在旷野使磐石裂开，给他们水喝，多如深渊的水。

我引导他们的时候，他们必哭着而来，并且向我乞恩恳求。我要使他们走在溪水旁，行在平直的路上，他们必不会绊跌；因为我是以色列的父亲，以法莲是我的长子。
