People of Israel, leave Babylon! Hurry up and get away from the Babylonians! Here is what I want you to announce. Make it known with shouts of joy. Send the news out from one end of the earth to the other. Say,“ The Lord has set free his servant Jacob.”

Go out from Babylon, flee from Chaldea, declare this with a shout of joy, proclaim it, send it out to the end of the earth; say,“ The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob!”

Yet even now, be free from your captivity! Leave Babylon and the Babylonians. Sing out this message! Shout it to the ends of the earth! The Lord has redeemed his servants, the people of Israel.

Leave Babylon! Flee from the Babylonians! Announce it with a shout of joy! Make this known! Proclaim it throughout the earth! Say,‘ The LORD protects his servant Jacob.

Leave Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing announce this, tell it even to the end of the earth: say,“ Yahweh has redeemed his servant Jacob!”

Be cheerful, shout joyfully together, You ruins of Jerusalem; For the Lord has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem.

“ Come out from her midst, My people, And each of you save yourselves From the fierce anger of the Lord.

“ You there! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord,“ because I have spread you out like the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord.“ You, Zion! Escape, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.”

Flee from the midst of Babylon, And each of you save his life! Do not perish in her punishment, For this is the Lord’s time of vengeance; He is going to repay to her what she deserves.

“ Wander away from the midst of Babylon And go out from the land of the Chaldeans; Be like male goats at the head of the flock.

Shout for joy, you heavens! And rejoice, you earth! Break forth into joyful shouting, mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people And will have compassion on His afflicted.

I heard another voice from heaven, saying,“ Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues;

“ Declare and proclaim among the nations. Proclaim it and lift up a flag, Do not conceal it. Say,‘ Babylon has been captured, Bel has been put to shame, Marduk has been shattered; Her idols have been put to shame, her images have been shattered.’

Depart, depart, go out from there, Do not touch what is unclean; Go out of the midst of her, purify yourselves, You who carry the vessels of the Lord.

‘ You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself.Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”

Hear the word of the Lord, you nations, And declare it in the coastlands far away, And say,“ He who scattered Israel will gather him, And He will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.”

When the Lord brought back the captives of Zion, We were like those who dream.

After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,“ Hallelujah! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God,because His judgments are true and righteous; for He has judged the great prostitute who was corrupting the earth with her sexual immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His bond servants on her.”And a second time they said,“ Hallelujah! Her smoke rises forever and ever.”And the twenty four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying,“ Amen. Hallelujah!”And a voice came from the throne, saying,“ Give praise to our God, all you His bond servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.”Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters, and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,“ Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.

And what one nation on the earth is like Your people Israel, whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people, and to make a name for Himself, and to do a great thing for You and awesome things for Your land, because of Your people whom You have redeemed for Yourself from Egypt, from other nations and their gods?

“ They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion, And they will be radiant over the bounty of the Lord— Over the grain, the new wine, the oil, And over the young of the flock and the herd. And their life will be like a watered garden, And they will never languish again.Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old together; For I will turn their mourning into joy And comfort them, and give them joy for their sorrow.

Then Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song to the Lord, saying:“ I will sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted; The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea.The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.The Lord is a warrior; The Lord is His name.Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He has thrown into the sea; And the choicest of his officers are drowned in the Red Sea.The waters cover them; They went down into the depths like a stone.Your right hand, Lord, is majestic in power; Your right hand, Lord, destroys the enemy.And in the greatness of Your excellence You overthrow those who rise up against You; You send out Your burning anger, and it consumes them like chaff.At the blast of Your nostrils the waters were piled up, The flowing waters stood up like a heap; The depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.The enemy said,‘ I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoils; I shall be satisfied against them; I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them; They sank like lead in the mighty waters.Who is like You among the gods, Lord? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?You reached out with Your right hand, The earth swallowed them.In Your faithfulness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation.The peoples have heard, they tremble; Anguish has gripped the inhabitants of Philistia.Then the chiefs of Edom were terrified; The leaders of Moab, trembling grips them; All the inhabitants of Canaan have despaired.Terror and dread fall upon them; By the greatness of Your arm they are motionless as stone, Until Your people pass over, Lord, Until the people pass over whom You have purchased.You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, The place, Lord, which You have made as Your dwelling, The sanctuary, Lord, which Your hands have established.The Lord shall reign forever and ever.”For the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, and the Lord brought back the waters of the sea on them, but the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea.Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dancing.And Miriam answered them,“ Sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted; The horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea.”

Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.

Then heaven and earth and everything that is in them Will shout for joy over Babylon, Because the destroyers will come to her from the north,” Declares the Lord.

In all their distress He was distressed, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

You have heard; look at all this. And you, will you not declare it? I proclaim to you new things from this time, Hidden things which you have not known.

Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her.”

On that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:“ We have a strong city; He sets up walls and ramparts for security.

Then you will say on that day,“ I will give thanks to You, Lord; For although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, And You comfort me.
