you who call yourselves citizens of the holy city and claim to rely on the God of Israel— the Lord Almighty is his name:

You call yourselves citizens of the holy city of Jerusalem. You say you depend on Israel’s God. His name is the Lord Who Rules Over All. He says,

For they call themselves after the holy city, and stay themselves on the God of Israel; the Lord of hosts is his name.

even though you call yourself the holy city and talk about depending on the God of Israel, whose name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

For they are named after the holy city, and lean on the God of Israel; his name is the LORD of Armies.

For they name themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The Lord of armies is His name.

For they call themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The Lord of hosts is His name:

As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things.You are doing the works of your own father.”“ We are not illegitimate children,” they protested.“ The only Father we have is God himself.” (niv)

Your sacred cities have become a wasteland; even Zion is a wasteland, Jerusalem a desolation.Our holy and glorious temple, where our ancestors praised you, has been burned with fire, and all that we treasured lies in ruins. (niv)
