以色列啊，你的人民雖多如海沙，將只有剩餘的人歸回。充滿公義的毀滅之事已定。

我必賜福給你，使你的後裔多如天上的星和海邊的沙。你的後裔必佔領仇敵的城池，

「然而，以色列的人數必像海沙一樣量不盡、數不完。從前我在什麼地方對他們說『你們不是我的子民』，將來也要在那裡對他們說『你們是永活上帝的兒女』。

我要使我僕人大衛的後裔和事奉我的利未人像天上的星和海邊的沙一樣不可勝數。』」

願他斷子絕孫，他的姓氏傳不到下一代。

我要使你的後代多如地上的塵土，人若能數算地上的塵土，才能數算你的後代。

同時，我要娶瑪倫的遺孀摩押女子路得為妻，好使死者繼續在產業上留名，免得他的名在本族本鄉中消失。今天，請各位作證。」

「我必伸手攻擊猶大，以及所有住在耶路撒冷的人，剷除巴力的餘跡及拜偶像之祭司的名號。

我必把以色列人從我賜給他們的土地上剷除，並離棄我為自己的名而使之聖潔的這殿，使以色列人在萬民中成為笑柄，被人嘲諷。

耶和華說：「正如我造的新天新地在我面前長存，你們的名字和後裔也必長存。

關於以色列人，以賽亞先知曾疾呼：「以色列人雖多如海沙，但得救的只是剩餘的人，

「我為了我的名，暫時忍怒；我為了我的榮耀，壓住怒氣，不消滅你。

萬軍之耶和華說：「我必攻擊巴比倫，剷除巴比倫的名號、餘民和後裔。這是耶和華說的。

你斥責列國，消滅惡人，永永遠遠抹去他們的名字。

迦南人和這一帶的人聽到這消息以後，必從四面八方來圍攻我們，將我們從地上斬盡殺絕。那時候，你的威名又何在呢？」

因此，耶和華要在一日之間剷除以色列的頭和尾。

我必在我的殿中、牆內賜給他們紀念碑和名號，使他們勝過有兒女的人。我必賜給他們永遠不會被除去的名號。
