以色列啊，你的人民虽多如海沙，将只有剩余的人归回。充满公义的毁灭之事已定。

我必赐福给你，使你的后裔多如天上的星和海边的沙。你的后裔必占领仇敌的城池，

“然而，以色列的人数必像海沙一样量不尽、数不完。从前我在什么地方对他们说‘你们不是我的子民’，将来也要在那里对他们说‘你们是永活上帝的儿女’。

我要使我仆人大卫的后裔和事奉我的利未人像天上的星和海边的沙一样不可胜数。’”

愿他断子绝孙，他的姓氏传不到下一代。

我要使你的后代多如地上的尘土，人若能数算地上的尘土，才能数算你的后代。

同时，我要娶玛伦的遗孀摩押女子路得为妻，好使死者继续在产业上留名，免得他的名在本族本乡中消失。今天，请各位作证。”

“我必伸手攻击犹大，以及所有住在耶路撒冷的人，铲除巴力的余迹及拜偶像之祭司的名号。

我必把以色列人从我赐给他们的土地上铲除，并离弃我为自己的名而使之圣洁的这殿，使以色列人在万民中成为笑柄，被人嘲讽。

耶和华说：“正如我造的新天新地在我面前长存，你们的名字和后裔也必长存。

关于以色列人，以赛亚先知曾疾呼：“以色列人虽多如海沙，但得救的只是剩余的人，

“我为了我的名，暂时忍怒；我为了我的荣耀，压住怒气，不消灭你。

万军之耶和华说：“我必攻击巴比伦，铲除巴比伦的名号、余民和后裔。这是耶和华说的。

你斥责列国，消灭恶人，永永远远抹去他们的名字。

迦南人和这一带的人听到这消息以后，必从四面八方来围攻我们，将我们从地上斩尽杀绝。那时候，你的威名又何在呢？”

因此，耶和华要在一日之间铲除以色列的头和尾。

我必在我的殿中、墙内赐给他们纪念碑和名号，使他们胜过有儿女的人。我必赐给他们永远不会被除去的名号。
