雅各家以色列族赤子、及猶大支派、崇事萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華、指其名而誓、以之是恃、自稱為聖邑之民、特爾心非由於誠慤、今宜聽耶和華之言。

Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and who came from the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of the Lord and confess the God of Israel, but not in truth or right.

“ Listen to me, O family of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and born into the family of Judah. Listen, you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and call on the God of Israel. You don’t keep your promises,

“ Listen to this, house of Jacob— those who are called by the name Israel and have descended from Judah, who swear by the name of the LORD and declare the God of Israel, but not in truth or righteousness.

“ Hear this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah; Who swear by the name of the Lord, And make mention of the God of Israel, But not in truth or in righteousness;

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of Jehovah, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness

“ Listen to this, house of Jacob— those who are called by the name Israel and have descended from Judah, who swear by the name of Yahweh and declare the God of Israel, but not in truth or righteousness.

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel,[ but] not in truth, nor in righteousness.

Listen to this, O family of Jacob, you who are called by the name‘ Israel,’ and are descended from Judah, who take oaths in the name of the LORD, and invoke the God of Israel– but not in an honest and just manner.

“ Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out of the waters of Judah. You swear by Yahweh’s name, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness—

And if you will swear,‘ As the Lord lives,’ In truth, in justice, and in righteousness; Then the nations will bless themselves in Him, And in Him they will boast.”

Bless God in the congregations, Even the Lord, you who are of the fountain of Israel.

Water will flow from his buckets, And his seed will be by many waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, And his kingdom shall be exalted.

And although they say,‘ As the Lord lives,’ Certainly they swear falsely.”

You shall fear only the Lord your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name.

I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.

‘ This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.And in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer sacrifices to Baal, and follow other gods that you have not known,then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say,‘ We are saved!’— so that you may do all these abominations?

Because the one who is blessed on the earth Will be blessed by the God of truth; And the one who swears an oath on the earth Will swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten, And because they are hidden from My sight!

So Israel lives in security, The fountain of Jacob secluded, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens also drip down dew.

Should your springs overflow into the street, Streams of water in the public squares?

To this day they act in accordance with the earlier customs: they do not fear the Lord, nor do they follow their statutes, their ordinances, the Law, or the commandments which the Lord commanded the sons of Jacob, whom He named Israel.

Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;

Hear the word of the Lord, You rulers of Sodom; Listen to the instruction of our God, You people of Gomorrah!“ What are your many sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord.“ I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fattened cattle; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats.When you come to appear before Me, Who requires of you this trampling of My courtyards?Do not go on bringing your worthless offerings, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and Sabbath, the proclamation of an assembly— I cannot endure wrongdoing and the festive assembly.I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts, They have become a burden to Me; I am tired of bearing them.

Lord, our God, other masters besides You have ruled us; But through You alone we confess Your name.

That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.

Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie— I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and make them know that I have loved you.

“ Then I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, those who oppress the wage earner in his wages or the widow or the orphan, and those who turn away the stranger from justice and do not fear Me,” says the Lord of armies.

God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him, and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name.

Say to God,“ How awesome are Your works! Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will pretend to obey You.

But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth?For you yourself hate discipline, And you throw My words behind you.When you see a thief, you become friends with him, And you associate with adulterers.You let your mouth loose in evil, And your tongue harnesses deceit.You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son.

The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His mighty arm:“ I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies, Nor will foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored.”

And you shall not swear falsely by My name, so as to profane the name of your God; I am the Lord.

For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self control, brutal, haters of good,treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these.

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely upon the Law and boast in God,

For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from people, but from God.

God said to him,“ Your name is Jacob; You shall no longer be called Jacob, But Israel shall be your name.” So He called him Israel.

“ Now the Lord heard the sound of your words when you spoke to me, and the Lord said to me,‘ I have heard the sound of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They have done well in all that they have spoken.

Now concerning everything which I have said to you, be careful; and do not mention the name of other gods, nor let them be heard from your mouth.

And those who bow down on the housetops to the heavenly lights, And those who bow down and swear to the Lord, but also swear by Milcom,

But the king will rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him will boast, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.

“ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut the kingdom of heaven in front of people; for you do not enter it yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,

This one will say,‘ I am the Lord’s’; And that one will call on the name of Jacob; And another will write on his hand,‘ Belonging to the Lord,’ And will give himself Israel’s name with honor.

‘ I know your tribulation and your poverty( but you are rich), and the slander by those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and* said of him,“ Here is truly an Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!”

Then he said,“ Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have contended with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
