因此，禍患要臨到你身；你不知何時發現，災害落在你身上，你也不能除掉；所不知道的毀滅也必忽然臨到你身。

Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you.

So horrible trouble will come on you. You will not know how to use your evil magic to make it go away. Great trouble will fall on you. No amount of money can keep it away. Something terrible will happen to you all at once. You will not see it coming ahead of time.

But evil shall come upon you, which you will not know how to charm away; disaster shall fall upon you, for which you will not be able to atone; and ruin shall come upon you suddenly, of which you know nothing.

So disaster will overtake you, and you won’t be able to charm it away. Calamity will fall upon you, and you won’t be able to buy your way out. A catastrophe will strike you suddenly, one for which you are not prepared.

But disaster will happen to you; you will not know how to avert it. And it will fall on you, but you will be unable to ward it off. Devastation will happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly.

人正說「平安穩妥」的時候，災禍忽然臨到他們，如同產難臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

主人就大怒，把他交給掌刑的，等他還清了所欠的債。

你們忘記神的，要思想這事，免得我把你們撕碎，無人搭救。

耶和華的使者出去，在亞述營中殺了十八萬五千人。清早有人起來一看，都是死屍了。

我們的敵人且說：「趁他們不知不見，我們進入他們中間，殺他們，使工作止住。」

他們火熱的時候，我必為他們設擺酒席，使他們沉醉，好叫他們快樂，睡了長覺，永不醒起。這是耶和華說的。我必使他們像羊羔、像公綿羊和公山羊下到宰殺之地。示沙克何竟被攻取？天下所稱讚的何竟被佔據？巴比倫在列國中何竟變為荒場？海水漲起，漫過巴比倫；她被許多海浪遮蓋。

「所寫的文字是：『彌尼，彌尼，提客勒，烏法珥新。』講解是這樣：彌尼，就是神已經數算你國的年日到此完畢。提客勒，就是你被稱在天平裏，顯出你的虧欠。毗勒斯，就是你的國分裂，歸與米底亞人和波斯人。」伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍給但以理穿上，把金鍊給他戴在頸項上，又傳令使他在國中位列第三。當夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被殺。

所以要回想你是怎樣領受、怎樣聽見的，又要遵守，並要悔改。若不警醒，我必臨到你那裏，如同賊一樣。我幾時臨到，你也決不能知道。

地上的君王，素來與她行淫、一同奢華的，看見燒她的煙，就必為她哭泣哀號。因怕她的痛苦，就遠遠地站着說：哀哉！哀哉！巴比倫大城，堅固的城啊，一時之間你的刑罰就來到了。

到了半夜，耶和華把埃及地所有的長子，就是從坐寶座的法老，直到被擄囚在監裏之人的長子，以及一切頭生的牲畜，盡都殺了。法老和一切臣僕，並埃及眾人，夜間都起來了。在埃及有大哀號，無一家不死一個人的。

我告訴你，若有半文錢沒有還清，你斷不能從那裏出來。」
