“巴比伦的少女啊，下来坐在尘土中吧！迦勒底的姑娘啊，坐在没有宝座的地上吧！因为你必不再娇柔细嫩。

巴比伦的处女啊！你下来，坐在尘土中吧！迦勒底的女儿啊！你坐在地上吧！没有宝座了，因为你必不再被称为柔弱娇嫩的了。

迦勒底國巴比倫都譬諸女主、失位而坐塗炭、喪其容儀、

巴比倫邑、邑原文作處女當降而坐於塗炭、塗炭原文作塵埃迦勒底邦、邦原文作女下同當坐於地、不坐於位、不復稱嬌柔細膩、

“ Go down, sit in the dust, Virgin Daughter Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, queen city of the Babylonians. No more will you be called tender or delicate.

“ City of Babylon, go down and sit in the dust. Leave your throne and sit on the ground. Queen city of the Babylonians, your life will not be comfortable and easy anymore.

Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called tender and delicate.

“ Come down, virgin daughter of Babylon, and sit in the dust. For your days of sitting on a throne have ended. O daughter of Babylonia, never again will you be the lovely princess, tender and delicate.

万军之耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：巴比伦好像踹谷的禾场；再过片时，它收割的时候就到了。

将要被灭的巴比伦哪，用你待我们的恶行报复你的，那人有福了。

来！住巴比伦的锡安百姓啊，逃吧！

少女埃及啊，要上基列去取乳香；你虽服用许多药，还是徒然，不得治好。

他们拿弓和枪，性情残忍，毫不留情；他们的声音像海浪澎湃。巴比伦啊，他们骑着马，如上战场的人摆列队伍，要攻击你。

锡安的城门必悲伤、哀号；它必荒凉，坐在地上。

底本的居民哪，要从你荣耀的座位上下来，坐着忍受干渴；因毁灭摩押的人上来攻击你，毁坏了你的堡垒。

所以耶和华论他这样说：‘少女锡安藐视你，嘲笑你；耶路撒冷向你摇头。

你心里曾说：‘我要升到天上，我要高举我的宝座在上帝的众星之上，我要坐在会众聚集的山上，在极北的地方。我要升到高云之上，我要与至高者同等。’

困苦的百姓，你必拯救；高傲的眼目，你使他降卑。

你要对君王和太后说：“你们当自卑，坐下；因你们的王冠，就是你们华美的冠冕已经掉落了。”

他使居住高处的与高处的城市一同降为卑下，将城拆毁，夷为平地，化为尘土，

你因美丽心中高傲，因荣光而败坏智慧，我已将你抛弃在地，把你摆在君王面前，好叫他们目睹眼见。

安逸的妇女啊，起来听我的声音！无虑的女子啊，侧耳听我的言语！无虑的女子啊，再过一年，你们必颤栗，因为无葡萄可摘，也无果实可收。安逸的妇女啊，要战兢；无虑的女子啊，要颤栗，要脱去衣服，赤着身体，腰束麻布。

耶路撒冷啊，抖去尘埃，起来坐在王位上！被掳的锡安哪，解开你颈上的锁链！

她怎样荣耀自己，怎样奢华，也要使她照样痛苦悲哀。因她心里说：‘我坐了皇后的位，并不是寡妇，绝不至于悲哀。’

你使他的光辉止息，将他的宝座推倒于地。

年轻人和老年人躺卧在街上，我的少女和壮丁都倒在刀下。你在发怒的日子杀了他们，你杀戮，并不顾惜。

你说：“我必永远为后。”你不将这事放在心上，也不思想事情的结局。你这专好宴乐、以为地位稳固的，现在当听这话。你心中说：“惟有我，除我以外再没有别的。我必不致寡居，也不经历丧子之痛。”哪知，丧子、寡居这两件事一日之间忽然临到你；你虽多行邪术、广施魔咒，这两件事必全然临到你身上。

锡安的长老坐在地上，默默无声；他们扬起尘土落在头上，腰束麻布；耶路撒冷的少女垂头至地。

那时沿海的君王都要从宝座下来，除去朝服，脱下锦衣，披上战兢，坐在地上，不停发抖，为你而惊骇。

约伯就坐在灰烬中，拿瓦片刮身体。

素来吃美好食物的，如今遭遗弃在街上；素来穿着朱红衣裳长大的，如今却拥抱粪堆。

他们同他七天七夜坐在地上，一句话也不对他说，因为他们见到了极大的痛苦。

他说：“受欺压的少女西顿哪，你必不再欢乐。起来！渡到基提去，就是在那里也不得安歇。

你中间柔顺娇嫩的妇人，甚至因柔顺娇嫩脚不肯踏地的妇人，也必冷眼恶待她怀中的丈夫和自己的儿女。在被仇敌围困、陷入窘迫的城镇中，她因缺乏一切，就要暗中把从她两腿中间出来的胞衣和所生下的儿女吃了。

你狂傲的心欺骗了你，你住在岩穴，居所在高处，心里说：“谁能把我拉下来到地上呢？”你虽如鹰高飞，在星宿之间搭窝，我必从那里拉你下来。这是耶和华说的。

这消息传到尼尼微王那里，他就从宝座起来，脱下朝服，披上麻布，坐在灰中。

倾覆列国的宝座，除灭列邦列国的势力，并倾覆战车和坐在其上的。马和骑兵都必跌倒，各人被弟兄的刀所杀。
