“ Go down, sit in the dust, Virgin Daughter Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, queen city of the Babylonians. No more will you be called tender or delicate.

“ City of Babylon, go down and sit in the dust. Leave your throne and sit on the ground. Queen city of the Babylonians, your life will not be comfortable and easy anymore.

爾心自謂、我將升天、設位於上帝諸星之上、坐於北極聚會之山、騰越雲霄、與至上者比擬、

困苦之民、爾救援之、傲視之輩、爾卑抑之、

爾其告王與太后曰、宜自卑而下坐、蓋爾頭巾、即爾華冕墜矣、

曾降居高之人、毀崇高之邑、覆之於地、墮之於塵、

爾因美麗、中心驕泰、爾之榮光、敗爾智慧、我必仆爾於地、置爾於列王前、為其目睹、

爾安逸之婦歟、起聽我聲、爾無慮之女歟、傾聽我言、歷有年餘、無慮之婦、必將驚擾、因葡萄無所獲、穀實無可收、安逸之婦、爾其戰慄、無慮之女、爾其驚擾、解衣裸體、腰束以麻、

耶路撒冷歟、爾其興起、去爾塵埃、安然而坐、被虜之錫安女歟、脫爾項索、

彼昔自榮與奢華若何、使之痛苦悲哀亦若何、蓋彼自謂我位后矣、非嫠也、決不至悲哀也、

息其光輝、傾其國位於地兮、

少年耆老、臥於街衢兮、處女丁壯、仆於鋒刃兮、爾於忿怒之日殺之、爾誅戮之、不加矜恤兮、

自謂我必永為主母、不思此事、不慮厥終、○爾宴樂安居、自謂有我、我外無他、必不孤坐為嫠、亦不喪子、爾其聽諸、一日之間、俄頃之際、二者臨爾、為嫠喪子、在爾多行邪術、廣施符呪之時、其災必悉臨爾、

曰、西頓被虐之處女歟、爾不復歡欣、起往基提、在彼亦不獲安、

爾中荏弱嬌嫩之婦、因其嫋娜、以足踐地、猶且不屑、必怒視其懷中之夫、與其子女、暨膝間之嬰孩、及凡所生、緣敵圍邑窘迫、而無所得、則私食之、

爾處巖穴、居於崇高、爾心之驕欺爾、自謂誰能降我於地、爾雖高居如鷹、結巢星間、我必使爾下墜、耶和華言之矣、

斯音傳至尼尼微王、遂起、下位解袍、衣麻坐於灰塵、

傾列邦之座位、滅萬民諸國之勢力、覆其車與駕之者、馬與乘之者、俱仆於昆弟之刃、
