The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well being and creating disaster; I am the Lord who does all these things.

我造光，又造暗；我施平安，又降灾祸；造作这一切的是我耶和华。

I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.

I cause light to shine. I also create darkness. I bring good times. I also create hard times. I do all these things. I am the Lord.

If a trumpet is blown in a city, will the people not tremble? If a disaster occurs in a city, has the Lord not brought it about?

Consider the work of God, For who is able to straighten what He has bent?On the day of prosperity be happy, But on the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other So that a person will not discover anything that will come after him.

But God is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.

For behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind, And declares to a person what are His thoughts, He who makes dawn into darkness And treads on the high places of the earth, The Lord God of armies is His name.

But he said to her,“ You are speaking as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we actually accept good from God but not accept adversity?” Despite all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster, And does not retract His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers, And against the help of the workers of injustice.

He says,“ You are My war club, My weapon of war; And with you I shatter nations, And with you I destroy kingdoms.

to do whatever Your hand and purpose predestined to occur.

Give glory to the Lord your God Before He brings darkness And before your feet stumble On the mountains in the dark, And while you are hoping for light He makes it into gloom, And turns it into thick darkness.

But with an overflowing flood He will make a complete end of its site, And will pursue His enemies into darkness.

This is what the Lord says, He who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— The Lord of armies is His name:

Seek the Lord so that you may live, Or He will break through like a fire, house of Joseph, And it will consume with no one to extinguish it for Bethel,

All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you And will set darkness on your land,” Declares the Lord God.

“ If I were to cause vicious animals to pass through the land and they depopulated it, and it became desolate so that no one would pass through it because of the animals,though these three men were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God,“ they could not save either their sons or their daughters. They alone would be saved, but the country would be desolate.Or if I were to bring a sword on that country and say,‘ A sword is to pass through the country,’ and I eliminated human and animal life from it,even though these three men were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God,“ they could not save either their sons or their daughters, but they alone would be saved.Or if I were to send a plague against that country and pour out My wrath on it in blood to eliminate man and animal from it,even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live,” declares the Lord God,“ they could not save either their son or their daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.”For this is what the Lord God says:“ How much more when I send My four severe judgments against Jerusalem: sword, famine, vicious animals, and plague to eliminate human and animal life from it!

Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hands is My indignation,I send it against a godless nation And commission it against the people of My fury To capture spoils and to seize plunder, And to trample them down like mud in the streets.

When He keeps quiet, who can condemn? And when He hides His face, who then can look at Him, That is, regarding both nation and a person?—

You appoint darkness and it becomes night, In which all the animals of the forest prowl about.The young lions roar for their prey And seek their food from God.When the sun rises they withdraw, And they lie down in their dens.A person goes out to his work And to his labor until evening.

At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot it, to tear it down, or to destroy it;if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I planned to bring on it.Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it;if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will relent of the good with which I said that I would bless it.

And angels who did not keep their own domain but abandoned their proper dwelling place, these He has kept in eternal restraints under darkness for the judgment of the great day,

For God, who said,“ Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Reach out with your hand toward the sky, so that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even a darkness which may be felt.”So Moses reached out with his hand toward the sky, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the sons of Israel had light in their dwellings.

So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Therefore the one did not approach the other all night.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have set in place;

A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness. As dawn is spread over the mountains, So there is a great and mighty people; There has never been anything like it, Nor will there be again after it To the years of many generations.

God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.

The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.

wild waves of the sea, churning up their own shameful deeds like dirty foam; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of darkness has been reserved forever.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Then God said,“ Let there be light”; and there was light.God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.God called the light“ day,” and the darkness He called“ night.” And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
