I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

‘ I will march out ahead of you. I will make the mountains level. I will break down bronze gates. I will cut through their heavy iron bars.

This is what the Lord says:“ I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.

“ I will go before you and level the uneven places; I will shatter the bronze doors and cut the iron bars in two.

“ I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars.

‘ I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron.

一切窪谷都當填滿，大小山岡都要削平！彎彎曲曲的改為正直，高高低低的修成平坦！

一切深谷都要填滿，一切山岡都要削平；險峻的要改為平地，崎嶇的要改為平原。

因為他打破了銅門，砍斷了鐵閂。

我必領瞎子走陌生的道，帶他們走他們不知道的路。我必在他們面前使黑暗變為光明，使彎曲的地方變為平直。這些事我都要作，決不放棄。

聽啊！山上有喧嘩的聲音，好像是眾多的人民；聽啊！有多國的人的嘈雜聲，好像是列國聚集在一起。萬軍之耶和華正在數點軍兵，預備打仗。他們從遠地而來，從天邊而來。就是耶和華和他惱怒的工具，要毀滅這全地。哀號吧！因為耶和華的日子近了，這日子來到，好像毀滅從全能者那裡來到一樣。因此，各人的手都必發軟，各人也必心驚膽戰。他們都要驚惶失措，疼痛與痛苦必抓住他們；他們必絞痛，像生產中的婦人一樣。他們在驚愕中彼此對望，面色像火燄一般。看哪！耶和華的日子快來到，必有殘忍、憤恨與烈怒，使這地荒涼，使其中的罪人滅絕。天上的星星和眾星座不再發光；太陽剛出來就變為黑暗，月亮也不再發光。我必因世界的邪惡施行刑罰，也必因惡人的罪孽懲罰他們；我要使狂妄人的驕傲止息，使強暴人的狂傲降卑。我必使人比精金還少，使人比俄斐的金更稀罕。在萬軍之耶和華發怒的時候，就是我大發烈怒的日子，我要使天震動，大地必搖撼，離開本位。人必像被追獵的羚羊，又像無人招聚的羊群，各自歸向本族，各自逃回本地。凡被追上的，必被刺死；凡被捉住的，必倒在刀下。他們的嬰孩必在他們眼前被摔死；他們的房屋必被搶掠，他們的妻子必被污辱。看哪！我要激動瑪代人來攻擊他們。瑪代人不重視銀子，也不喜愛金子。

那時，約有一百二十人聚會，彼得在眾弟兄中間站起來說：
