instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age,while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works.

Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, so he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.

He saturates clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through them.

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD, and do not let his mother’s sin be blotted out.

But you, LORD, know all their deadly plots against me. Do not wipe out their iniquity; do not blot out their sin before you. Let them be forced to stumble before you; deal with them in the time of your anger.
