彼乃食灰、中心昏迷、使之離途、弗能自救、不知自言、我之右手所執、非虛誕乎、○

彼心昏迷、所望成空、若食燼餘而不悟、不知右手所作、悉屬虛妄。

彼如以灰為食、中心昏昧、入於迷途、不知自救、不自曰、我右手所作、悉屬虛妄、

Such a person feeds on ashes; a deluded heart misleads him; he cannot save himself, or say,“ Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?”

That’s as foolish as eating ashes! The mind of someone like that has led him astray. He can’t save himself. He can’t bring himself to say,“ This thing I’m holding in my right hand isn’t really a god at all.”

He feeds on ashes; a deluded heart has led him astray, and he cannot deliver himself or say,“ Is there not a lie in my right hand?”

The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask,“ Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie?”

He feeds on ashes. His deceived mind has led him astray, and he cannot rescue himself, or say,“ Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”

My people ask counsel from their wooden idols, And their staff informs them. For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray, And they have played the harlot against their God.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

“ Ephraim feeds on the wind, And pursues the east wind; He daily increases lies and desolation. Also they make a covenant with the Assyrians, And oil is carried to Egypt.

In transgressing and lying against the Lord, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.Professing to be wise, they became fools,

But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,

“ What profit is the image, that its maker should carve it, The molded image, a teacher of lies, That the maker of its mold should trust in it, To make mute idols?

The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.

The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,

“ Should a wise man answer with empty knowledge, And fill himself with the east wind?

For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

Because you have said,“ We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we are in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, It will not come to us, For we have made lies our refuge, And under falsehood we have hidden ourselves.”Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.Also I will make justice the measuring line, And righteousness the plummet; The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, And the waters will overflow the hiding place.

O Lord, my strength and my fortress, My refuge in the day of affliction, The Gentiles shall come to You From the ends of the earth and say,“ Surely our fathers have inherited lies, Worthlessness and unprofitable things.”

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

And the Lord said,‘ Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner.Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said,‘ I will persuade him.’The Lord said to him,‘ In what way?’ So he said,‘ I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said,‘ You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.”

and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.
