維彼不知不思、其目障翳不見、其心蒙蔽不明、

維彼不識不知、其目若塗以泥、其心不明、

惟彼不知不悟、目塗不見、心蔽不明、

They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand.

People like that don’t even know what they are doing. Their eyes are shut so that they can’t see the truth. Their minds are closed so that they can’t understand it.

They know not, nor do they discern, for he has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, and their hearts, so that they cannot understand.

Such stupidity and ignorance! Their eyes are closed, and they cannot see. Their minds are shut, and they cannot think.

Such people do not comprehend and cannot understand, for he has shut their eyes so they cannot see, and their minds so they cannot understand.

They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see, and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend.

They do not know nor understand; For He has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, And their hearts, so that they cannot understand.

They know not, neither do they consider: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

Such people do not comprehend and cannot understand, for He has shut their eyes so they cannot see, and their minds so they cannot understand.

They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see;[ and] their hearts, that they cannot understand.

They do not comprehend or understand, for their eyes are blind and cannot see; their minds do not discern.

They don’t know, neither do they consider: for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see; and their hearts, that they can’t understand.

He said,“ Go and tell this people:“‘ Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” (niv)

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (niv)

For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:“ He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn— and I would heal them.” (niv)

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear: (niv)

So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices. (niv)

How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God? (niv)

then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.Then you will understand what is right and just and fair— every good path. (niv)

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie,and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lieand so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. (niv)

In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:“‘ You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ (niv)

Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. (niv)

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.Although they claimed to be wise, they became foolsand exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. The Lord has brought over you a deep sleep: He has sealed your eyes( the prophets); he has covered your heads( the seers). (niv)

as it is written:“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day.”And David says:“ May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them.May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.” (niv)

Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. (niv)

The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.” (niv)

Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully. (niv)

Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. (niv)

Such a person feeds on ashes; a deluded heart misleads him; he cannot save himself, or say,“ Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?” (niv)

In the past, he let all nations go their own way. (niv)

“ Gather together and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save. (niv)

Senseless people do not know, fools do not understand, (niv)

You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. (niv)

All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame. (niv)

They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols. (niv)

They lift it to their shoulders and carry it; they set it up in its place, and there it stands. From that spot it cannot move. Even though someone cries out to it, it cannot answer; it cannot save them from their troubles.“ Remember this, keep it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. (niv)

Everyone is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. The images he makes are a fraud; they have no breath in them. (niv)

With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed— an accursed brood! (niv)

Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand. The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them. (niv)

They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, they seek their own gain. (niv)
