你思家心切，一定要走，但你为什么要偷走我的神像呢？”

那时拉班正在外面剪羊毛，拉结偷了父亲的家庭神像。

“不可为自己雕刻神像，不可仿照任何飞禽走兽或水族的样子造神像，不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。

你们必在那里供奉人用木石造的不会看、不会听、不会吃、不会闻的神像。

工匠鼓励银匠，打磨的勉励打砧的，说，‘打得好！’他们用钉子把偶像钉牢，免得摇晃。

米迦说：“你们带走了我的神像和祭司，把我洗劫一空，还问我想做什么！”

于是，雅各吩咐家人和所有的随从：“你们要除掉你们当中的外族神像，沐浴更衣，洁净自己。

我们既然是上帝的子孙，就不该认为上帝是人凭手艺和想象用金、银、石头所雕刻的样子。

所以不可堕落，去为自己制造任何形状的神像——男人、女人、飞禽走兽、爬虫或鱼类。

‘凡雕刻或铸造耶和华所憎恶的神像，并偷偷供奉的必受咒诅！’全体民众要回答说，‘阿们！’

至于你的神像，你在谁身上搜出来，谁就是该死的。你可以当着众弟兄的面察看，如果在我这里有什么物件是你的，你只管拿走。”雅各不知道拉结偷走了神像。
