他們各人幫助鄰舍，各人對弟兄說：壯膽吧！木匠勉勵銀匠，用鎚打光的勉勵打砧的，論銲工說，銲得好；又用釘子釘穩，免得偶像動搖。

偶像是匠人鑄造，銀匠用金包裹，為它鑄造銀鍊。

那從囊中抓金子，用天平平銀子的人，雇銀匠製造神像，他們又俯伏，又叩拜。他們將神像擡起，扛在肩上，安置在定處，它就站立，不離本位；人呼求它，它不能答應，也不能救人脫離患難。

眾民所勞碌得來的被火焚燒，列國由勞乏而得的歸於虛空，不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

亞倫從他們手裏接過來，鑄了一隻牛犢，用雕刻的器具做成。他們就說：「以色列啊，這是領你出埃及地的神。」

他們快快偏離了我所吩咐的道，為自己鑄了一隻牛犢，向它下拜獻祭，說：『以色列啊，這就是領你出埃及地的神。』」

眾民的風俗是虛空的；他們在樹林中用斧子砍伐一棵樹，匠人用手工造成偶像。他們用金銀妝飾它，用釘子和錘子釘穩，使它不動搖。它好像棕樹，是鏇成的，不能說話，不能行走，必須有人擡着。你們不要怕它；它不能降禍，也無力降福。耶和華啊，沒有能比你的！你本為大，有大能大力的名。萬國的王啊，誰不敬畏你？敬畏你本是合宜的；因為在列國的智慧人中，雖有政權的尊榮，也不能比你。他們盡都是畜類，是愚昧的。偶像的訓誨算甚麼呢？偶像不過是木頭。有銀子打成片，是從他施帶來的，並有從烏法來的金子，都是匠人和銀匠的手工，又有藍色紫色料的衣服，都是巧匠的工作。惟耶和華是真神，是活神，是永遠的王。他一發怒，大地震動；他一惱恨，列國都擔當不起。（你們要對他們如此說：不是那創造天地的神，必從地上從天下被除滅！）
