集列邦、會萬民、其中孰能言此、而示我以往事、當攜證者、以徵其言、使人聞之曰、誠是也、

耶和華又曰、我之選民、為我臣僕、可為證、灼知予、篤信予、以我為上帝、在我之先、在我之後、無他上帝。

All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of their gods foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say,“ It is true.”

Which of them told us anything at all about the past? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right. Then others will hear them. And they will say,“ What they said is true.”

Gather the nations together! Assemble the peoples of the world! Which of their idols has ever foretold such things? Which can predict what will happen tomorrow? Where are the witnesses of such predictions? Who can verify that they spoke the truth?

你儘管提醒我，讓我們來辯論；儘管陳述，自顯為義。

眾海島啊，在我面前靜默；萬民要重新得力，讓他們近前來陳述，我們可以彼此辯論。

自從古時我設立了人，誰能像我宣告，指明，又為自己陳說呢？讓他指明未來的事和必成的事吧！你們不要恐懼，也不要害怕。我豈不是從上古就告訴並指示你們了嗎？你們是我的見證人！除我以外，豈有上帝呢？誠然沒有磐石，就我所知，一個也沒有！」製造偶像的人盡都虛空，他們所喜悅的全無益處；偶像的見證人毫無所見，毫無所知，以致他們羞愧。

大能者上帝－耶和華已經發言呼召天下，從日出之地到日落之處。

所以，我自古就給你說明，在事未成以先指示你，免得你說：『這些事是我的偶像所行的，是我雕刻的偶像和鑄造的神像所命定的。』「你既已聽見，現在要察看這一切；你們不是要說明嗎？從今以後，我要指示你新事，就是你所不知道的隱密事。

以利亞近前來對眾百姓說：「你們心持二意要到幾時呢？如果耶和華是上帝，就當順從耶和華；如果是巴力，就當順從巴力。」百姓一言不答。以利亞對百姓說：「作耶和華先知的只剩下我一個；巴力的先知卻有四百五十人。請給我們兩頭牛犢，巴力的先知可以為自己挑選一頭牛犢，切成小塊，放在柴上，不要點火；我也預備一頭牛犢放在柴上，也不點火。你們求告你們神明的名，我也求告耶和華的名。那應允禱告降火的就是上帝。」眾百姓回答說：「好主意。」

四圍的列國啊，你們要速速前來，一同聚集。耶和華啊，求你使你的勇士降臨

萬民哪，你們都當聽這話！世上所有的居民，無論貴賤貧富，都當側耳而聽！

若你們認為事奉耶和華不好，今日就可以選擇所要事奉的：是你們列祖在大河那邊所事奉的神明，或是你們所住這地亞摩利人的神明呢？至於我和我家，我們必定事奉耶和華。」百姓回答說：「我們絕不離棄耶和華去事奉別神。因為耶和華－我們的上帝曾領我們和我們的祖宗從埃及地為奴之家出來，在我們眼前行了那些大神蹟，並在我們所行的一切路上，和所經過的各民族中保護了我們。耶和華又把各民族和住此地的亞摩利人都從我們面前趕出去。所以，我們也必事奉耶和華，因為他是我們的上帝。」約書亞對百姓說：「你們不能事奉耶和華，因為他是神聖的上帝，是忌邪的上帝，必不赦免你們的過犯罪惡。你們若離棄耶和華去事奉外邦的神明，耶和華在降福之後，必轉而降禍給你們，把你們滅絕。」百姓對約書亞說：「不，我們要事奉耶和華。」約書亞對百姓說：「你們選擇耶和華，要事奉他，你們自己作證吧！」他們說：「我們願意作證。」「現在，你們要除掉你們中間外邦的神明，專心歸向耶和華－以色列的上帝。」百姓對約書亞說：「我們必事奉耶和華－我們的上帝，聽從他的話。」

到了獻晚祭的時候，先知以利亞近前來，說：「耶和華－亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的上帝啊，求你今日使人知道你是以色列的上帝，我是你的僕人，我遵照你的話做這一切事。求你應允我，耶和華啊，應允我，使這百姓知道你－耶和華是上帝，是你叫他們回心轉意的。」於是，耶和華降下火來，燒盡燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又燒乾了溝裏的水。眾百姓看見了，就臉伏於地，說：「耶和華是上帝！耶和華是上帝！」

「你們都當聚集而聽，偶像之中誰曾說明這些事？耶和華愛他，他必向巴比倫成就耶和華的旨意，耶和華的膀臂也要加在迦勒底人身上。

「你們從列國逃脫的人，要一同聚集前來。那些抬着雕刻的木偶、祈求不能救人之神明的，毫無知識。你們要近前來說明，讓他們彼此商議。誰從古時指明這事？誰從上古述說它？不是我－耶和華嗎？除了我以外，再沒有上帝；我是公義的上帝，又是救主；除了我以外，再沒有別的了。

我從起初就指明末後的事，從古時便言明未成的事，說：「我的籌算必立定；凡我所喜悅的，我必成就。」
