集列邦、會萬民、其中孰能言此、而示我以往事、當攜證者、以徵其言、使人聞之曰、誠是也、

耶和華又曰、我之選民、為我臣僕、可為證、灼知予、篤信予、以我為上帝、在我之先、在我之後、無他上帝。

All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of their gods foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say,“ It is true.”

Which of them told us anything at all about the past? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right. Then others will hear them. And they will say,“ What they said is true.”

耶和华说：“你们要呈上你们的案件。”雅各的君王说：“你们要提出你们的理由。”让它们近前来，告诉我们将来要发生什么事！你们要说明先前发生的事，好让我们思索；或者告诉我们将来的事，使我们得知事情的结局。你们要指明未来的事，使我们知道你们是神明！你们或降福，或降祸，好使我们惊奇，一同观看。看哪，你们属乎虚无，你们的作为也属虚空；那选择你们的是可憎恶的。我从北方兴起一人，他从日出之地而来，是求告我名的；他必踩踏掌权者，如踩踏泥土，又如陶匠踹泥一般。有谁从起初宣布这事，使我们知道呢？有谁从先前指明，使我们说“他是对的”呢？没有人宣布，没有人指明，也没有人听见你们的话。

你尽管提醒我，让我们来辩论；尽管陈述，自显为义。

众海岛啊，在我面前静默；万民要重新得力，让他们近前来陈述，我们可以彼此辩论。

自从古时我设立了人，谁能像我宣告，指明，又为自己陈说呢？让他指明未来的事和必成的事吧！你们不要恐惧，也不要害怕。我岂不是从上古就告诉并指示你们了吗？你们是我的见证人！除我以外，岂有上帝呢？诚然没有磐石，就我所知，一个也没有！”制造偶像的人尽都虚空，他们所喜悦的全无益处；偶像的见证人毫无所见，毫无所知，以致他们羞愧。

大能者上帝—耶和华已经发言呼召天下，从日出之地到日落之处。

所以，我自古就给你说明，在事未成以先指示你，免得你说：‘这些事是我的偶像所行的，是我雕刻的偶像和铸造的神像所命定的。’“你既已听见，现在要察看这一切；你们不是要说明吗？从今以后，我要指示你新事，就是你所不知道的隐密事。

以利亚近前来对众百姓说：“你们心持二意要到几时呢？如果耶和华是上帝，就当顺从耶和华；如果是巴力，就当顺从巴力。”百姓一言不答。以利亚对百姓说：“作耶和华先知的只剩下我一个；巴力的先知却有四百五十人。请给我们两头牛犊，巴力的先知可以为自己挑选一头牛犊，切成小块，放在柴上，不要点火；我也预备一头牛犊放在柴上，也不点火。你们求告你们神明的名，我也求告耶和华的名。那应允祷告降火的就是上帝。”众百姓回答说：“好主意。”

四围的列国啊，你们要速速前来，一同聚集。耶和华啊，求你使你的勇士降临。

万民哪，你们都当听这话！世上所有的居民，无论贵贱贫富，都当侧耳而听！

若你们认为事奉耶和华不好，今日就可以选择所要事奉的：是你们列祖在大河那边所事奉的神明，或是你们所住这地亚摩利人的神明呢？至于我和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华。”百姓回答说：“我们绝不离弃耶和华去事奉别神。因为耶和华—我们的上帝曾领我们和我们的祖宗从埃及地为奴之家出来，在我们眼前行了那些大神迹，并在我们所行的一切路上，和所经过的各民族中保护了我们。耶和华又把各民族和住此地的亚摩利人都从我们面前赶出去。所以，我们也必事奉耶和华，因为他是我们的上帝。”约书亚对百姓说：“你们不能事奉耶和华，因为他是神圣的上帝，是忌邪的上帝，必不赦免你们的过犯罪恶。你们若离弃耶和华去事奉外邦的神明，耶和华在降福之后，必转而降祸给你们，把你们灭绝。”百姓对约书亚说：“不，我们要事奉耶和华。”约书亚对百姓说：“你们选择耶和华，要事奉他，你们自己作证吧！”他们说：“我们愿意作证。”“现在，你们要除掉你们中间外邦的神明，专心归向耶和华—以色列的上帝。”百姓对约书亚说：“我们必事奉耶和华—我们的上帝，听从他的话。”

到了献晚祭的时候，先知以利亚近前来，说：“耶和华—亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的上帝啊，求你今日使人知道你是以色列的上帝，我是你的仆人，我遵照你的话做这一切事。求你应允我，耶和华啊，应允我，使这百姓知道你—耶和华是上帝，是你叫他们回心转意的。”于是，耶和华降下火来，烧尽燔祭、木柴、石头、尘土，又烧干了沟里的水。众百姓看见了，就脸伏于地，说：“耶和华是上帝！耶和华是上帝！”

“你们都当聚集而听，偶像之中谁曾说明这些事？耶和华爱他，他必向巴比伦成就耶和华的旨意，耶和华的膀臂也要加在迦勒底人身上。

“你们从列国逃脱的人，要一同聚集前来。那些抬着雕刻的木偶、祈求不能救人之神明的，毫无知识。你们要近前来说明，让他们彼此商议。谁从古时指明这事？谁从上古述说它？不是我—耶和华吗？除了我以外，再没有上帝；我是公义的上帝，又是救主；除了我以外，再没有别的了。

我从起初就指明末后的事，从古时便言明未成的事，说：“我的筹算必立定；凡我所喜悦的，我必成就。”
