故我使聖所之祭司祭司或作牧伯受凌辱、使雅各被咒詛、使以色列受誹謗、

So I disgraced the dignitaries of your temple; I consigned Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.

So I put the high officials of your temple to shame. I let Jacob’s family be totally destroyed. And I let people make fun of Israel.

Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary, and deliver Jacob to utter destruction and Israel to reviling.

That is why I have disgraced your priests; I have decreed complete destruction for Jacob and shame for Israel.

So I defiled the officers of the sanctuary, and set Jacob apart for destruction and Israel for scorn.

So I will profane the officials of the sanctuary, And I will turn Jacob over to destruction and Israel to abuse.

Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; I will give Jacob to the curse, And Israel to reproaches.

So I defiled the officers of the sanctuary, and set Jacob apart for destruction and Israel for abuse.

So I defiled your holy princes, and handed Jacob over to destruction, and subjected Israel to humiliating abuse.”

I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil; to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I will drive them.

It shall come to pass that, as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Don’t be afraid. Let your hands be strong.”

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

The Lord has swallowed up all the dwellings of Jacob without pity. He has thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah. He has brought them down to the ground. He has profaned the kingdom and its princes.

I was angry with my people. I profaned my inheritance and gave them into your hand. You showed them no mercy. You laid a very heavy yoke on the aged.

You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen; and the Lord Yahweh will kill you. He will call his servants by another name,

But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come on you and overtake you.You will be cursed in the city, and you will be cursed in the field.Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed.The fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the increase of your livestock, and the young of your flock will be cursed.You will be cursed when you come in, and you will be cursed when you go out.Yahweh will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you put your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your doings, by which you have forsaken me.

Therefore Yahweh has watched over the evil, and brought it on us; for Yahweh our God is righteous in all his works which he does, and we have not obeyed his voice.

Yahweh will set him apart for evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this book of the law.The generation to come— your children who will rise up after you, and the foreigner who will come from a far land— will say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses with which Yahweh has made it sick,that all of its land is sulfur, salt, and burning, that it is not sown, doesn’t produce, nor does any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath.Even all the nations will say,“ Why has Yahweh done this to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”Then men will say,“ Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they didn’t know and that he had not given to them.Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against this land, to bring on it all the curses that are written in this book.Yahweh rooted them out of their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and thrust them into another land, as it is today.”

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; of whom we said, under his shadow we will live among the nations.

You have renounced the covenant of your servant. You have defiled his crown in the dust.

Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the middle of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein.For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

I said,“ You are gods, all of you are sons of the Most High.Nevertheless you shall die like men, and fall like one of the rulers.”

Who gave Jacob as plunder, and Israel to the robbers? Didn’t Yahweh, he against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in his ways, and they disobeyed his law.Therefore he poured the fierceness of his anger on him, and the strength of battle. It set him on fire all around, but he didn’t know. It burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.”

So it will be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, to the nations that are around you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes— I, Yahweh, have spoken it—

He has violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden. He has destroyed his place of assembly. Yahweh has caused solemn assembly and Sabbath to be forgotten in Zion. In the indignation of his anger, he has despised the king and the priest.The Lord has cast off his altar. He has abhorred his sanctuary. He has given the walls of her palaces into the hand of the enemy. They have made a noise in Yahweh’s house, as in the day of a solemn assembly.

forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

You mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain on you, and no fields of offerings; For there the shield of the mighty was defiled and cast away, The shield of Saul was not anointed with oil.
