You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses.

But you have not bought any sweet- smelling cane for me. You have not given me the fattest parts of your animal sacrifices. Instead, you have loaded me down with your sins. You have made me tired with the wrong things you have done.

You have not bought me sweet cane with money, or satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins; you have wearied me with your iniquities.

You have not brought me fragrant calamus or pleased me with the fat from sacrifices. Instead, you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your faults.

You have not bought me aromatic cane with silver, or satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins; you have wearied me with your iniquities.

You have not bought Me sweet cane with money, Nor have you satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices; Rather, you have burdened Me with your sins, You have wearied Me with your wrongdoings.

You did not buy me aromatic reeds; you did not present to me the fat of your sacrifices. Yet you burdened me with your sins; you made me weary with your evil deeds.

My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.

To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”

He said,“ Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?

Forty long years I was grieved with that generation, and said,“ It is a people that errs in their heart. They have not known my ways.”

Those of you that escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols. Then they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

The priest shall burn them on the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire, for a pleasant aroma; all the fat is Yahweh’s.

“ But the deceiver is cursed, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to the Lord a defective thing; for I am a great King,” says Yahweh of Armies,“ and my name is awesome among the nations.”

Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, the Mighty One of Israel, says:“ Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself on my enemies.

This again you do: you cover Yahweh’s altar with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn’t regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand.Yet you say,‘ Why?’ Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.Did he not make you one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.One who hates and divorces”, says Yahweh, the God of Israel,“ covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.You have wearied Yahweh with your words. Yet you say,‘ How have we wearied him?’ In that you say,‘ Everyone who does evil is good in Yahweh’s sight, and he delights in them;’ or‘ Where is the God of justice?’

I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens.For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills.I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine.If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.Will I eat the meat of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

Yahweh said to Moses,“ Take to yourself sweet spices, gum resin, onycha, and galbanum; sweet spices with pure frankincense. There shall be an equal weight of each.

Aaron shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.

But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. Therefore he turned and became their enemy, and he himself fought against them.

Behold, I will crush you in your place, as a cart crushes that is full of grain.

All its fat he shall take away, like the fat is taken away from the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

“ Also take fine spices: of liquid myrrh, five hundred shekels; and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, even two hundred and fifty; and of fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty;and of cassia five hundred, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; and a hin of olive oil.

“‘“ Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have raged against me in all these things; therefore, behold, I also will bring your way on your head,” says the Lord Yahweh:“ and you shall not commit this lewdness with all your abominations.
